Melatonin, unsure of ivf clinics advice… help?!
after waiting weeks for my fertility clinic to answer my queries regarding taking -melatonin - DHEA -metformin - ubiquinol prior to my next fresh ivf cycle in 3 months, I’ve finally had a response today. They won’t prescribe metformin as I don’t have PCOS (fair enough.) They said given my

Time off work for IVF?
Hi, We've just got our dates for our first cycle of IVF. We'll be freezing the eggs after collection due to PCOS. My work are very supportive and flexible, so will accommodate me going to the appointments and working when I can, but my question is would it be better to book the whole couple of weeks

Agonists vs. antagonists (the latter not to be confused with a character in a novel!)
I know many of you on this site are beyond ADT, but for those who are still holding on in that space, I'd like to share my experience with the newer antagonists drugs, degarelix ( U.S. brand, Firmagon) and relugolix (U.S. brand, Orgovyx). I started ADT exactly 8 years ago this month and during my off-and-on

Kidney Commute CE Study Guide: Depression and Dialysis
CKD patients on dialysis are four times more likely to experience depression than the general public. A new study is hoping to change this by testing treatment options. Learn more. https://www.kidney.org/newsletter/kidney-commute-ce-study-guide-depression-and-dialysis

What causes autoimmune diseases?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpZhLQXp__g I don't often post Youtube videos but I was much impressed by this lecture by Dr Peter Osborne and felt the need to share it. This is quite a long lecture (1 hour 50 mins) by an expert in autoimmune diseases who has rather unconventional views on the subject

Folic Acid does not cause PA
I saw this article with responses about the consumption of folic acid. What do people think about the responses? Especially the one who says that there shouldn't be a limit to the amount of folic acid taken. https://www.bmj.com/content/329/7479/1376/rapid-responses I have been taking 5mg folic acid

Therio
https://therio.me/ [i] I don't know anything about the company. I met Micah seven years ago at a medical conference. He was selling Ozone generators. I ended up buying one and have been using it ever since. It's all about home-testing various conditions from Parkinson's to cancer to Alzheimer's

Hi everyone, I'm booked in for IVF with egg collection planned for the end of March. This will be my first IVF cycle, been TTC coming up to 4 years in August. I've never been pregnant/never had a positive test. We have a details appointment next week so I called my clinic asking about the appointment

Unsure of best option in early prostate cancer diagnosis.
I have had PSA tests annually for 10 years and in Oct 2023 had an elevated 6.42 result. Was referred to a urologist, whom performed a DRE. There was prostate enlargement but no tumor discovered through DRE. After discussing several options, I decided to have a biopsy on Nov 21, 2023. Dec 5, 2023,

wheat in cosmetics
I’m recently diagnosed with coeliac disease. I’m following a gluten free diet but have noticed that a product I bought to promote hair growth contains wheat germ amongst many other ingredients. As this product needs to be massaged into the scalp should I not use it?

PGT testing or not
Hi everyone, I have failed in 3 ivf cycles. Last one I had 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilised and only 1 made it to blastocyst and we sent it to PGT testing. It came out 100% aneploid. Now, I have started another cycle and NY doctor suggested to continue without PGT testing. Doctor said that we don't have

11dp3dt - positive - but now clinic say OTD should be 14dp3dt - a little panicked!
Hello fellow warriors, Took our test this morning and we can’t quite believe it - we have seen our first ever positive at 11dp3dt. (TTC 3+, 3rd round of IVF, low fertilisation rates, no blasts.) I emailed the clinic to confirm and book in the viability scan only to be informed that OTD should actually
