Some advice please!

I'm on my third cycle of IVF. My first cycle we got two embryos which ended up aneuploid. My second cycle Feb 24 I cancelled due to poor response.

My third cycle (icsi) has resulted in an amazing 6 embryos being biopsied (will be 2-3 weeks awaiting results)

I was so excited to have six for testing after my cancelled cycle. It felt like actually getting to transfer was possible. However... I then started googling and have found multiple stories of people with 5 and 6 embryos which all came back aneuploid and it's really got to me, i feel I went from a high to feeling totally deflated.

I know I shouldn't compare myself to others but I am 43 so my rate of aneploidy would be expected to be higher anyway.

Does anyone of a similar age have any positive outcomes to balance the stories I have read or some tips for how not to focus too much on these negative outcomes??

Thanks!

Does your clinic test them as part of your package? My clinic have never mentioned it. Although I only get a few eggs at a time so not many left to test by day 5.

I think I'd prefer not to know anyway xx

PGT costs a few thousand extra to have the testing, with my clinic it costs the same for up to 8 embryos so not great if u only have a few. I had a miscarriage from a natural conception and didn't feel I could cope with another so asked for PGT to reduce the risk as my age. Without the PGT they would have implanted the two from my first round and I would have lost them. It's such a personal decision as to whether to test or not. This recent round was going to be my last with my own eggs whatever the outcome so wanted to throw everything at it! I know it's not for everyone though.

6 embryos is a great number at 43. You might get 3 normal embryos after PGT testing. Wish you all the best. Did you use any supplements and for how long?

Thanks Nakijo, I was totally surprised especially given my cancelled round two months ago. I am just on Pregnacare pre conception, which I started taking when I first started ttc, Folic Acid, Vitamin D and I started Co Q10 in November after my last round. I just bought the 200mg tablets from Boots and took one per day although lots of people on here are on 600mg. The difference this time was that the clinic suggested ICSI as only 4 of 9 eggs fertilised in round 1, we have no MFI but they were throwing the kitchen sink at this round. 11 of 12 eggs fertilised normally with the ICSI so it was definitely worth doing.Good luck with your journey too!

Hello, no advice here just popping in to say I am 42, and waiting to hear if my 3 fertilised eggs get to blastocyst to be tested today. All I wanted to say was 1) well done on such great numbers and 2) remember we are doing this to safeguard our hearts for the future and support our successes, not those of others on the internet....which I appreciate is really hard.

I was v sad I only had 3 fertilised eggs from 10 EC, but had to flip it and think I have 3 more than I did the day before, or the month before, and 3 more chances getting to PGT stage, 3 more chances of a baby, and 3 more chances of better knowledge and understanding....and you have even more <3 all the best to you and your future results x

Thanks Darcy1996, fingers crossed you get a great outcome today or even tomorrow. My first round I had one ready for biopsy day 5 and one on day 6, I had never heard of day 6's before, but it seems common, had another day 6 this round too.I had only 4 of 10 fertilise first time and thought it was all over on day 1, but they were obviously strong ones so hope yours are the same.

The waiting and lack of control over outcomes is so difficult, but everything crossed for you today🤞
