Alternative to omeprazole?
Hi all I take omeprazole twice a day. Initially I took one in the morning to cover my stomach against all the meds. After an endoscopy, I was advised to take it twice a day because I now have a hiatus hernia. What alternatives are there which do a similar job but is less harsh on the body? I am also

Omeprazole
This heartburn medication is the go to for doctors these days, and I have been on it for several years now. However, I now have to have an endoscopy as I am having problems swallowing. Apparently something Omeprazole causes. They, if they find what is expected, will dilate the opening to my throat.

Ongoing nausea and stomach discomfort accompanied by differing bowel movements
Around 2005 when I was 15 and taking my exams, I would get sporadic abdominal pain and nausea. My GP referred me to a gastroenterologist and I had numerous blood tests and an endoscopy. Everything came back clean. I was prescribed Lanzoprazole and took Gaviscon tablets. After my exams finished, the symptoms

Anxiety.....Is It?
Hi. I am struggling with symptoms which Dr says are anxiety. It started around two weeks ago when I felt like I had something stuck in my throat, chest, back pain & the feeling of constriction or being strangled! Dr gave me Omeprazole to try for one month, did an ECG which was fine apart from slow R

Newbie update
I posted last week in absolute despair. Several of you were very kind and replied, sharing your own experiences and stories. I just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping me to get through those difficult days, while my husband was stabilising.... he's now much better. The mood

I am new here and am seeking some guidance on improving my Thyroid antibodies.
I have been reading the very helpful posts on this forum and while they have been helpful I am somewhat confused as to what would be right for me and the correct way to go about tackling these antibodies. My research has led me to believe I should cut out Gluten; then Dairy, Soy etc. (Paleo approach)

Hospital again.....
Oh here we go again. Back in the hospital. Since my endoscopy last Monday, I had some weird painful cramps in the stomach area just under the breasts. Plus some oesophageal pain so I put it down to the endoscopy, the inflammation and the fact I had been without omeprazole for ages due to the test.

I've now got the most awful Acid Reflux (GERD). Pain under left rib, thick mucassy feeling in my throat, generally feeling rubbish

When Bioequivalence in Healthy Volunteers May not Translate to Bioequivalence in Patients
Before going any further, this research was sponsored IBSA - who are behind the Tirosint product. There are many here who would agree that there appear to be differences between makes of levothyroxine. If we accept that the products contain the same amount of levothyroxine, we do need another explanation

I've been there, done that and now waiting to get the t-shirt ;) I think it went OK - I feel the real test will be my next appt in 3 months... She did listen to me, examined me, sent me for blood tests (ESR CRP liver and renal functions) and for an x-ray of lower spine and hips and told me she would
