Clarification for Ppiman and Secondtry.........
Shyman calling. Ppiman had problems trying to reduce Omeprazole dosage. One of several drugs in the PPI family (Proton Pump Inhibitors). Blocking acid production to prevent reflux. I have found several medicines that help quieten the stomach and digestive issues. If calmness can be restored and maintained

Feeling more like my 'old self'
I was diagnosed with AFIB in October 2020 at the age of 79. Since then I have been on a learning curve about an ailment of which I had little prior knowledge. Health Unlocked with its daily mail bag of the trials and sufferings of fellow AFibbers has been a valuable source of information. During

How to wean down Omeprazole?
I have been taking Omeprazole 1x20 mg per day for the last 7 weeks. One of the GP at my surgery said to stop it but after 1.5 days the heartburn started again. I would like to wean down the medication instead. Any advice please? Many thanks

Problems getting prescriptions for naproxen and omeprazole
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I take hydroxy, methotrexate and abatacept Last week I requested some more naproxen. I don't take a lot if it these days since I started with abatacept so it was a year or more since my last prescription request. I was told 'there is a 3 star interaction with methotrexate

Prednisolone 1mg enteric coated shortage?
Hi everyone, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster! I've got so much more information from this forum than I've ever had from my GP since being diagnosed with PMR in 2016, so thank you all. The reason I'm de-lurking is because I'm having trouble getting 1mg enteric coated tablets. The pharmacy

IBS Symptoms?
Hi, I started with acid reflux and upset stomach around five months ago, which has steadily persisted. Doctor gave me omeprazole which gave me migraines and sickness followed by esomeprazole which wasn’t any better - despite helping the acid, it gave me awful diarrhoea. Fast forward to now and I’m not

Stomach and right rib pain?
Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here. This is only my second post. My liver enzymes spiked about 4 years ago, AST 80 and ALT 120 for about 2 months and then went back to normal. Doctors thought due to stress and maybe the Voltaren I was on for hip inflammation. Since then, I have had all sorts of tests

First day of Methotrexate 15mg
Saw Consultant last Thursday and it was decided that Methotrexate was best option as I am having a lot of gastric problems with Pred. Tapering from 25mg down to 20mg for a week then down by 2.50 each week till next appointment. Wasn’t told best time to take Methotrexate but after reading Mrs Nails

PPI’s and atrial fibrillation
Curious as to what others experience is with proton pump inhibitors, especially those whose AF symptoms are vagal in origin? I came off daily PPI’s as I believed they were contributing to my episodes breaking through. After stopping the PPI’s I noticed a significant drop in my AF episodes, however three

When to take Thyroxine advice please
Hi everyone, I’ve been taking my thyroxine (100/125), with all my morning meds + tiny bit of food, followed by breakfast 60-90 minutes later for 10 years and my endo says this is fine. I can’t say I’ve ever felt the thyroxine’s made any difference, and lately other major health problems have begun

clopidogrel/omeprazole interractions
Thank you everyone for your posts regarding this. I would not have known that taking omeprazole and clopidogrel together could potentially be dangerous, had I not read it on this forum last year by a complete fluke!!! It seems as if some people here are still taking this combination and others are not

High 80mg daily PPI dose
A few years ago I had acid reflux and was put on 1 20mg PPI tablet a day, It was an ongoing prescription but eventually I weaned myself off it and was ok for a couple of years. About 4 years ago I had an endoscopy related to something else. It came back ok, just with some gastritis. About two years

Update on my Partner
It's been a couple of months since I last posted about my partner (43 years old, diagnosed with ARLD back in July 2021) so I thought I would share an update on his progress. Since then, he's had a couple more blood tests that have shown further improvement. His platelets and hemoglobin are now just
