RE: VERSUS (Off message) New"Arthritis"" charity
Received this letter today from Versus the new "Arthritis " charity....hope you can see it clearly. No doubt it is a huge mail shot to people who have already been contributing to one of the charities that amalgamated to form Versus. Unfortunately, I have just cancelled my monthly DD, as nowhere does

Arthritis Action's Online Self-Management Resource
Arthritis Action has just launched the UK's first FREE arthritis e-learning resource. "The resource features 16 evidence-based videos facilitated by their team of professionals. The videos can help people learn new techniques, manage their condition and improve their daily life." I've only watched one

Is this a PMR flare Up?
Morning everyone, I need some advice because I am very confused about where I am with my PMR. I was diagnosed in October 2015 and have been on Prednisolone since then (originally 20mg a day). On 1st October this year I dropped the dose to 1mg/2mg alternate days and on 9th November to 1mg a day. This

Does it get easier after menopause due to no more hormone fluctuations? Is anybody still on steroids after menopause

MTX one of the safest drugs available for the treatment of RA
The safety profile of the weekly low doses used for RA treatment has been studied for over 25 years with very few clinically relevant adverse events. Courses of MTX show some of the longest continuation rates reported in clinical medicine, owing to both its effectiveness and safety. This safety profile

Discussion or advice/test recommendations
Hello. I have a number of problems that if any of you have any of them too, I could do with a chat about them such as what might help you, tests, etc. Ok so some on my list are; microvascular angina, lipodeama in one leg secondary to a trauma, Achilles tendinitis and plantar fasciitis in the same foot

GCA and black outs?
Hi I'm new to this forum. Dx with pmr April this year. CRP 106. 20mg prednisolone. Worked well so slowly down to 7mg by beginning of November when all symptoms came back within days. then fell over but thought nothing of it. Following week started to feel really unwell. Husband found me unconscious

Never get too cocky
Just when my PMR problems have abated (fingers & toes remain crossed!), up pops a dose of cellulitis and a reminder that although muscles are returning to normal (what's that?) the osteoarthritis in my feet is very much still there! On the plus side I can now have targeted physiotherapy for the arm
