temporal arthritis: dont have any other symptoms... - PMRGCAuk
temporal arthritis
Not arthritis - arteritis, different thing altogether. Arthritis is joints, arteritis is blood vessels.
Headaches can have many many causes - we would need far more details than that to make any suggestions at all.
Mom passed away Two months later got headaches. 5 months later still have headaches Went to a Neurologist and had MRI without contrast. Which was fine and had blood test Also fine. Should I get a biopsy of temple?
How old are you?
I'd be inclined to suspect it is the stress of your mother's death. But there is little point in subjecting yourself to a biopsy that won't give a reliable answer - if it is positive it is 100% certain but being negative doesn't mean it isn't GCA, it means they didn't find what they were looking for. But no respectable doctor would do the biopsy without a good suspicion that GCA was a possibility.
My age is 59. Thanks
As PMRPro says the fact that it started after your Mom died suggests that it could be a stress, related tension headache. There are so many expressions of grief and bereavement. When my mum died, all my symptoms felt sinister. It finally morphed into PMR. Autoimmune diseases can certainly follow bereavement. I imagine that you would have more symptoms if it was GCA. I am sorry for your loss.
Unlikely, but not impossible, if you don’t have any other symptoms- but as PMRpro says more info required.
I think you asked similar question about a month ago, so I guess your doctors have not come up with anything.
Hey there, I realize my comment is coming in quite late but I hope you are feeling much better by now. Just to answer your question, I think it's safe to say, we can completely rule out arthritis as this affects the joints, knees or even your neck. It is technically an inflammation of the joints with at times visible swelling.
As mentioned by the others earlier, it could be stress induced headache. It won't hurt to get a checkup just to rule out anything for your own calmness and security. In the mean time, reduce your salt intake, maintain a healthy diet, drink lots of water and perhaps you can take vitamins and supplements to boost your health
I'd be more impressed if you had enough knowledge to realise the temporal "arthritis" was a typo!!!!
excuse me, but I did not realize my comment was directed to you! The person who made this post is clearly having some issues and am providing some advice to the best of my knowledge. I do not understand the reason behind your provocative comment on my post. The aim was to provide support and not to go debate if it was arthritis or arteritis
