There are different types of scan....MRI, PET, CT, and duel x-ray. So depends which you are having and what the instructions for radiographer are as to what they will concentrate on. Did the doctor say what type of arthritis they thought was most likely, as that will also make a difference about what they focus on.

she seemed to side with osteo she just said full body scan but couldn't uderstand why doc did not for bloods when he came to see me she began to have different opnion of maybe inflammatory after i finished explaining things so all up in air as of yet any flare goto docs for bloods and steroids thanks for reply

Well, yes, but the Rheumy isn't looking for anything other than inflammation & erosion or damage, that's what her request says so the report from the Radiographer & imaging she receives will be related to musculoskeletal issues only.

What is it you're thinking Paul?

i dont think its rheumatoid but its more than osteo that how i feel know from my own body because i can feel things ease when i take ibrufen shhhhhhhhush i didnt say that the stomach police will get me

If you have a nuclear bone scan it will show any 'hot spots' around all the bones of your skeleton, if there is actually any inflammation there. It wont give clues about ie your digestion problems.

It does pick up all problems with soft tissue but if they are not looking for anything else they won't find it. I recently had one for a blocked bowel. Although a layer scan revealed gall bladder sludge and kidney cysts they never picked it up during first scan so don't expect them to find everything that may be wrong.

hi chay well that might b handy as i been diagnosed with gastroparasis frozen gut slow matabilism may show something then

It will show problems in your gut but they won't see them unless specifically looking for them. As someone said it depends what they r looking for. They don't check every organ on your scan but only for what your doc has requested. Good luck.

Since you already have a diagnosis for your stomach the scan is probably a CAT scan checking mainly your joints since there seems to be some unclearity if your problem is OA or RA or both.

The antibiotics have shown to have a positive effect on RA inflammation as well. The lifting of the brain fog may very well be the effect of decreased inflammation in general.
