Never get too cocky

Just when my PMR problems have abated (fingers & toes remain crossed!), up pops a dose of cellulitis and a reminder that although muscles are returning to normal (what's that?) the osteoarthritis in my feet is very much still there!

On the plus side I can now have targeted physiotherapy for the arm bursitis and it is responding well. There's plenty of light this side of the tunnel, you just have to wait patiently for it to appear!

I always say: If you don't learn anything else on the PMR journey you will learn patience!!!

Thank you for your post. Congratulations to you on seeing the light on the other side. I'm not quite confident enough to say I see the light, but maybe some twinkling.

I'm at 4/3mg on a 52 day taper, almost two years to the day since my first inklings of shoulder pain, one month short of two years since diagnosis, and two months short of two years since the start of treatment ( I dragged my feet for a month out of fear of taking Prednisone).

I was just about to post something about feeling more energetic despite residual shoulder pain from bursitis or rotator cuff. I was even going to say that my muscles feel more like my own. Then I caught myself. There's still a way to go before I get to club zero. If I get there. Afraid to jinx myself. But with fingers and toes crossed, I am feeling a wee bit optimistic.

Then I saw your post. Really, quite the coincidence. Thank you for the reminder to never get too cocky around PMR.

May I admit to feeling some very cautious optimism without angering the PMR gods? I'm feeling more at ease with staying in the present, not focusing so much on getting through this as I am with being patient with just today.

That is a low dose - if it is working you have every right to feel good. But don't push your luck if it appears NOT to be working at any point ;-)
