Stem cell transplant for Myelofibrosis
After 12 years with PV and then 2 years with MF I explained in a letter to my consultant that were the decision to have a transplant entirely mine it is what I would wish for. I'd been on Jakavi for a year and it had ceased to help. I then went onto the Pacritinib trial which curtailed night sweats

Done with Lutetium
I completed five of the six infusions in the VISION clinical trial before I was excluded due to low hemoglobin. The initial and main cause of the low hemoglobin was my bone marrow transplant in late 2017, but the level continued dropping. Lutetium reduced my PSA by about 300 per infusion, in a linear

How long did recovery take
Hi guys I know weāre all different but wondered how long it had taken those who have had a liver transplant to get back to work. Going in for my assessment tests tomorrow feeling very anxious - not about the tests but the outcome! Thanks Sam

Liver Transplant Straw Poll
Thought I'd kick off a straw poll to see how long, after going through assesment , is the typical waiting time for a new liver... of course I understand there are many reasons for waiting times but thought this might be interesting, not least because I'm close to assesment! Time waited in months...

Celebrating 25 years with this 'gifted heart'
Just sharing living twenty-five years with a heart transplant done at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on October 19th, 1994. These many years continue to be filled with a very active life, enjoying family and community, serving in many patient support roles by way of giving back for this

Emotional support?
Hi Iām a living donor for my mother for a kidney transplant which is scheduled in five weeks. I am really struggling with methods of support and understanding. It has been an extremely isolating experience for me and I would love to also be able to help others who are having emotional struggles throughout

Be Well Be Strong Be Positive
Hi all. I had my first Ablation back in May 2018 unfortunately didn't work. Back in June 2018. Had AF since 1998. Unfortunately it's back, heading for my 3 pacemaker in 8 years. Getter closer to a Heart Transplant every month. My favourite saying is I can't die yet, I haven't annoyed enough people

Parietal cell antibody test
I know I'm repeating myself but want to be clear. Is it correct that if you test negative for this it's reliable? I've not had the intrinsic factor test. I'm asking as I'm getting the vibe as one year in now the surgery want to decrease my B12 injections. B12 was put on my latest blood form after

Go appointment for liver damage
Well got my husband to have a blood test and he got a phone call for an immediate doctors appointment. He has advanced cirrhosis and ascites but will not give up drinking and does not want a liver transplant. What can I get his doctor to do for him? He has an appointment already next week with the consultant
