Hello all I was just wondering. Can you still be eligible for liver transplant if you’ve had gallbladder removed. I ask because at one time there has been “sludge” in my gallbladder. I’m hoping my gallbladder is ok...

Hi
Yes, I think so. I have heard of people on here that have had Gall bladder removed, are still eligible for transplant. Some people have had them removed at the same time!! Take care of yourself

I have also got IBS ,diverticulitis, gastritis, spondylitis, costochondritis, degeneration of the facet joint, fibromyalgia, under active thyroid, diabetes type 2, oa in knees, depression, shin splints, sciatica to name but a few!!! Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Oh my gosh I now feel like a complete drama queen complaining about my condition!! I really hope you manage to find some pain free/capable pain days in between everything your going through, honeslty don't think I could cope 🙈 Sending lots of love 💝 xx
Hi iris, it shouldn’t make a difference in itself. They do remove the gall bladder from the transplanted liver and whip yours out as well. So whatever happens, you won’t have one!!!
Yes I had mine removed about 17 yrs before transplant
I had mine out 13 years ago and have just been told I am need an assessment so guessing it makes no difference! Xx
Pretty sure that they took mine out when I had my transplant.. Anyway... So you are ahead of the game.. Ha ha...
Hi Irisw yes l am sure you can but l am not eligible due to my age. My loss of my gallbladder has never been mentioned. Good luck Colleen
