Fibromyalgia? Polymyalgia rheumatica, 'just arthritis'?
I have had two hip replacements for osteo-arthritis, and definitely have arthritis in two toes after an injury. This kind of pain is long-standing. Several years ago I had an 18-month course of steroids for apparent polymyalgia rheumatica, involving buttock and shoulder pain. Recently, I have similar

I have been diagnosed with NAFLD. Could this have been caused due to me taking Amitryptaline as a sleeping pill for the last few years.
I have felt recently that the Amitryptaline has not been as effective as I am not sleeping well again and I am thinking of stopping taking these. I looked up what the effects of using Amitryptaline could be and it pointed to some sort of Hepatic side effects. Elevated liver function tests, drug-induced

Mirena coil not working as well as before in controlling pain?
Hi all, I found this site when searching how long lasting the Mirena is, as I am suffering from the return of endo pain after my third year of having it. I'm wondering if its because it needs replacing, or is it that my body is fighting the affects of it and the endo is taking over in a sense? I'm hoping

IBS caused by hypermobility syndrome?
I read an article the yesterday about IBS being quite common in patients with hypermobility syndrome. Hypermobile people have a problem with the collagen in their bodies. Collagen is involved with the muscles, tendons, ligaments and anything that moves in the body. It makes everything extra elastic so

Heal The Pain
On this Monday just gone i had a "Total Left Hip Replacement" and by all accounts it went very well. But since I've been discharged I've had nothing but problems ='( My left leg has swelled to unbearable lengths and. after calling Emergency services and having myself taken to A&E with suspected DVT

Pain two years after hip replacement
Do oher people find that they have pain when they sit - al;most as if they have insufficient buttock muscles? Also I'm having pain in my right buttock a lot - as I did before - possibly piriformis syndrome. Do other people find that their pain is related to the weather?

I had a total left hip replacement this week but I am experiencing huge swelling in that leg from the knee down to my toes. Anyone know why?
I am 38 and suffer with RA. I've been to A&E and they don't believe it to be DVT. Could it be a really bad RA flair? I've never felt anything like this before and i am very concerned. I have been given strong liquid morphine to combat the pain until a scan at the hospital Monday. I am in utter agony

Hello. I'm new to the site and was diagnosed earlier this year with sero-negative inflammatory arthritis.
After years of thrashing around from dermatologists to gynaecologists through hip replacements, physio, anti-inflammatories and a whole lot else.. I finally saw a rheumatologist and had something of a diagnosis. Things seem to have happened so fast, since. I'm feeling a bit lost about it all to

I gave up smoking on 27th September when I went into hospital for a hip replacement, I decided this was the time to give up, and now seven weeks and counting. In away its been quite hard because when I got home I could
