Why do I get clots test?
Three years ago I had a DVT which led to a PE. I stayed on warfarin for 1 Year andcame off it for a hip replacement and never went back on. Two weeks ago I became confused, memory loss and left sided weakness and a cerebral venous thrombosis was diagnosed . I am now back on warfarin for life. No follow

Hello All, i am new here and I am after a little adviceplease. I have been eating flaxseed everyday for the last 7 weeks and after suffering years of constipation have finally got my bowels into regular rhythm.... each week just gets better and better! History of Paroxysmal A.Fib.
Hi, I was diagnosed with A.fib in 2002. Since then I have had 3 failed ablations. I had a pacemaker in 2011. In 2016 I was due to have a hip replacement. There was a big fuss about doing it in case I went into Afib and unfortunately I gave in to having an A.V node ablation. No more pain from hip.

Debilitating back pain
I havnt posted here for a while as I've been really unwell. I had a hip replacement 5 years ago Due to OA . A few years after that i began to notice the odd niggle in my back. Over the last year it has got worse going in to spasm regularly. I can't even begin to describe the pain when this happens. Now

Thought it was time to formally introduce myself ☺️
I have been following you all since about Christmas. I am a 53 year old lady and was diagnosed with RD when I was 25, it was initially treated as Lupus. I have had all the usual ups and downs, a hip replacement at 36 and a brain anyuersm (unrelated) at 38. I have taken great joy and comfort in reading

new here...anyone get RLS post surgery & anyone else with manganese deficiency...
Just wondering if anyone else got their RLS post surgery? Hip replacement 10 yrs ago and I have had RLS ever since. Can't seem to pinpoint what set it off- assume low ferritin but did not lose alot of blood. Just wondering if anyone else had any similar experience. Low ferritin- has been 10, now a whopping

Hip op. and ET
My wife has been told she will have a hip replacement in November. If anyone has experience of this operation whilst having ET we would appreciate your advice and guidance. When she had an emergency stomach op in 2017 the surgeon etc did not consult the MPN clinic until she was quite poorly.

Scarring on prostate from radiation caused bladder blockage
I am currently in hospital recovering from a hip replacement. I was due to have surgery 5 weeks ago but an MRI showed that PCa was still present on my acetabulum after previous scans suggested it had gone. So I had to wait for the orthopaedic oncologist to help my orthopaedic surgeon to treat the bone

High Platelets
My platelet count usually run in the 500 to 750 range. However over the past six months I’ve been running in the 900- Hematologist not really concerned because I do not have a spleen and says it’s secondary thrombosis. However I just had another blood draw and now it’s 1832 Its doubled in a month

Warfarin and Spine Surgery
Three years ago I had multiple PE's while on low dose of warfarin (INR was found to be only 1.0) I was on the warfarin for previous DVT's. I was then diagnosed with having Lupus Anticoagulant. I am being treated in St. Louis, MO by an oncologist who says that LA is not the same as APS or Hughes

How do I cope with a THR?
Hi Everyone, I haven't posted here for a while but I read all the daily posts and I have learnt a lot about RA through them. I have had RA for 5 years and finally got to clinical remission about a year ago. After a recent MRI scan for a painful right hip, I was so shocked to find out that I have OA in

Good news bad news
The good news: my 3 yr PMR journey continues smooth after 2 years of hiccups, and I have started a DSNS reduction of Prednisolone to 3.5 from 4 mg per day. After a visit to my hip replacement surgeon, my new right hip is doing well and I can start swimming, not breast stroke, and driving again, though
