Weight gain
Can anyone explain to me in simple terms why, if you are hypo, there is weight gain? My weight seems to be galloping away and I don’t seem to have any control whatsoever. I have been through periods of practically starving myself to prove a point with very little weight loss. It’s becoming a bit of

I had radioactive

Are these symptoms typical 2 weeks post op?
I had my hysterectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have had my uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes removed. I lost 1/2 litre of blood during surgery so I have been given ferrous sulfate to take for a month. Blood pressure is at the lower end of ok. But still, it's ok :) I have two questions... I am feeling dizzy

Rash following ICD implant
After a discussion with the surgeon on the phone, the nurse said it was probably an allergy to the
iodine
solution used in theatre, and suggested I get some hydrocortisone cream and some Piriton from the pharmacy.

Diet and exercise for hyperthyroidism?
Hi all, Has anyone tried a low
iodine
diet combined with exercise to control their overactive thyroid (Graves’ disease), either as a sole treatment or in conjunction with other treatments? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Pfizer vaccine after Shinrix
Hello everyone. I am looking for a little advice. I had a Shinrix shot Feb 17 and have a Pfizer COVID shot booked for tomorrow. On the consent form, there is a box to check if you have had another vaccine in the past 14 days. It never occurred to me that this might be an issue. I booked the COVID shot

Shoulder pains?
Hey ladies, does anyone else suffer with bad shoulder and arm pain due to their endo? Since yesterday my right shoulder radiating all the way down my arm to my hand, it’s hurting so much. Like a deep dull growing pain, similar to the pains I get in my pelvis and thighs. Does anyone else differ with this

Anyone know what blood test this will contain?
Recently my endo asked my gp to test my bloods for TSH, Ft3 and fT4 as well as coeliac and parietal antibodies. GP put this test through: (TF3) TFT3: Hyperthyroid on treatment/T3 I am not hyperthyroid on treatment. I am post RAI for graves hypothyroid. And I wasn’t sure whether this includes TSH

WE'RE MISSING SOMETHING
IODINE
! How does the T4 convert to T3 without
iodine
? They have taken the
iodine
out of just about everything and for no reason? I believe I am going to start dosing my own
iodine
? Why the hell not? And, why haven’t I been dosing it? Am I wrong or am I right?

Pain meds after D&C?
Hi all, I've just had a second miscarriage which required a D&C at 9 weeks last week. It's a heartbreaking experience and I'm off of work for two weeks. They've also removed a growth from my cervix at the same time. I'm also on really strong pain meds now (30g codeine, sleeping tablets, herbal anxiety
