Covid with pre-existing brain injury
Hi everyone. Seven months into recovery from SAH and after a rough couple of days I tested positive for Covid this morning. I'm usually quite good at looking stuff up but I'm drawing a blank finding any information about additional risks and actions I should consider/take. Plenty of stuff about neurological

Labcorp SARS Spike Ab Results
My search capability stinks, so I thought that maybe someone can help. I was trying to find some of the posts discussing the Labcorp limits on the SARS Spike Ab test. I know that there has been some modification recently in the way Labcorp is reporting the results. The reason I'm asking is that after

Genital Ointment
Hi everyone. I have been using Instillagel syringes for years for my genital sores but recently I had to have a smear and my GP could not manage to do it as I was swollen and painful. I went to the Sexual Health Clinic and the doctor there was just lovely. She said the Instillagel was not ideal as it

Breathless after Covid and anti-virals?
Admittedly there has been a lot going on in my life , my wife passed away from lung cancer at the end last year, I was involved in a bad accident in March which effectively left me disabled for a few weeks due to severe bruising and strains. Then at the end of May I finally caught covid. Being on Cimzia

Covid and Prednisolone.
Four years and three months into my PMR and GCA journey, and down to 7 . 5 mgs Prednisolone. Just diagnosed one of the 3 members of the family with Covid. Should I increase my Prednisolone, or carry on the same as I am on now. Thanks in advance for the advice that is on it's way. Trevor.

It seems Covid and increased risk of hypothyroidism coexist
This paper in Thyroid analyses the relationship if any between Covid infection and risk of hypothyroidism. Not unexpected, since Covid infection has a rather random "long-Covid" result in a substantial number of people. At this moment it is open to me. THYROID COVID-19 and Thyroid Function: A Bi-Directional

4th Covid vaccine dose after having the virus?
Hi ladies, I hope you are well! I’m 24+6 today and still in disbelief! I had Covid for the first time at the end of July and I’ve been offered a 4th dose of vaccine. Anyone in the same situation and what are you going to do? My due date is 1st January. I also already had the whooping cough vaccine

Covid, antivirals and steroid doses
I was contacted to say I was in close contact with someone who has Covid and asked to order more tests. I have Covid symptoms and feel poorly but am still testing negative. (I am told that with this variant it can take 3 days for the tests to show positive. ) I am not sure what to do about the antivirals

New Evusheld (AstraZeneca) Commercial On US National TV
A very subdued, professional TV commercial with one of my favorite movie stars, Jeff Bridges. The commercial was on CBS network US national news directed to immunocompromised viewers. Near the beginning of the pandemic, Jeff was diagnosed with Lymphoma, underwent chemo, and later contracted Covid

I have COVID 😢
I am still in watch and wait with CLL. So after avoiding Covid for over 2.5 years I traveled to the Tennessee mountains with my daughter and her family. I always wear a mask every where I go but we did eat inside one restaurant where I didn’t wear it while we were eating. I’ve had 5 Pfizer vaccines and

covid -antivirals
Am on Pred and have been for 2.5 years. I have covid and despite having spoken to several medics none of them seem to make a decision about whether I should have antivirals. Has anyone else had this situation?

Hi all. Has anyone been advised to stop taking Methotrexate near the time of having the Covid 19 vaccination or whether one might affect the other? Thank you

Very dry mouth
Since Covid in October 2022 I have had a dry mouth with a sore tongue and sore roof of mouth. I am now thinking it is nothing to do with Covid but maybe related to Mercury thyroxine? I have struggled for years trying to find a brand that agrees with me, ever since the original Eltroxin I by Glaxo disappeared

Off Topic..dotting ‘I’s and crossing ‘T’s?
Attended for my 6th Covid vaccination yesterday at a clinic specifically for ‘Over 75s’, according to the forms we were asked to complete. The 3rd question asked, “Are you or could you be pregnant?” Mmmmm….! Btw; a flu jab was being offered to all at the same time…the Covid jab was Moderna bivalent.
