Sorry that you're feeling awful but I don't understand why you say it's negative? 🤔

The NHS response to me was 'your test is negative'

Did you report your lateral flow test correctly? Normally the confirmation you get from the NHS when you report a lateral flow test only tells you which box you ticked when you reported it. You tell them if it’s negative or positive. That test definitely looks positive to me!

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply tobpeal1

I scanned the result and uploaded a picture of the test.Did exactly the same this morning and came back positive!

bpeal1 profile image
bpeal1 in reply toMaggsie

Are you sure you were reporting it on the NHS site? I’ve never been asked to upload a picture of it. You can scan the QR code to register the test rather than typing in the long code but you still have to tell them whether it is positive or negative.

When I reported my test on the NHS it said to upload photo of test which was positive but very faint, the uploaded photo registered as negative, I rang 119 and they said to ignore the upload photo option and choose to report as either positive or negative, I redid the test and registered that as positive and this ensured that I could access the antiviral medication, it took a bit of chasing and several phone calls but the CMDU from Guys hospital London couriered Paxlovid tablets to me 4 days after I had tested positive, if you are eligible for the meds I would try and get them, get well soon.

So how do I go about getting the antiviral medication? Have tested positive for covid yesterday, registered lft on gov & NHS covid 19 app on my phone. Yep it told me I'm positive. I have underlying health issues and do feel very poorly with covid but can breathe enough ok. Anybody know? I don't know. Thanks. Should add I got sent a text message from NHSResult contain code I needed to type into the NHS covid 19 app. . Contacts alerted on that app and that was it done. Isolate for 6 days that the NHS covid 19 app is counting down for me visibly on it. Sorry if post/message/reply seems short/abssubt. Can hardly think due to Covid making skull feel it will explode. eyeballs extremely painful too.

I rang 111 and they sorted it

Thank you. My faith/trust in the NHS has been seriously damaged unfortunately. So much that shouldn't go on does go on within it more and more. Feel very let down by the NHS and belittled and disbelieved. My time wasted just to be insulted and belittled.

It’s obviously positive

this is positive speak to your GP and send photo if they do the link thing so they can see it!

As the others have said, I'd contact the GP if I were you as it's definitely positive.

I think you may have accidentally ticked the wrong box on the form. YOU have to tell THEM whether the result is positive or negative (unless there is some way of reporting that I have missed). As others have said, that is definitely a positive result. Hope you don't feel too poorly xx

That is very weird - I can’t think why they said that because that test is obviously positive. When my husband had covid recently he just went on the site and used the number to say he was positive (apart from a response offering antivirals which I think was part of some project or another because they didn’t have any to offer him in the end) that was it.

He didn’t send a photo of the test and was never asked for one.

That's most definitely positive for COVID I'm sure. It's exactly the same appearance as my daughter's test and she was positive. If you just had one line at the top it would be negative but as you have a line at the bottom as well you are positive. And as you feel so unwell I would say that confirms it. Wish I could say different.

Looks like a positive to me.

Look like its positive to me. Did you do it on one of the sent direct to vulnerable people or a bought one ? as we wondered with my husbands as it'd been in the cupboard if it was still viable but did again and it was 2 lines again. But he only had very mild cough for a day or so I hope your feeling better today.

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply tomedway-lady

It was an NHS sent one. Tested again this morning and still 2 lines. Uploaded the test and now showing as positive.

I hope it doesn't last long. But husband had it for just a few days but had to stay in as tested positive for 10 days.(watching golf)

That test is positive. PCR to confirm? I’m day five after positive LFT and feeling much better after antivirals.

Hope they work for me! I had an infusion this PM.

That is a positive test you are showing! Who said it was Negative? You should stay at home & call 111/119 & get their advice.A Negative result is only one line…..not two……are you sure you didn’t tick the wrong option when you ticked your result?

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply toAgedCrone

Thank you AC, but there was no box to tick. I was asked to take a photo of the result and it was automatically uploaded. The result came back as negative. Did exactly the same today and the result came back as positive. After a little bit of a runaround GP, 119 and 111 I finally managed to get an anti viral infusion this afternoon, so all's well that ends well (which is pertinent as I was due to go to an outdoor performance on Merry Wives of Windsor on Friday) ☹

You must have some how got directed off the official NHS Site……what did 111/119 think of the photo idea?I’ve just read thru the replies you received & nobody else has been asked for a photo..so that appears to be the only answer….& that could be very dangerous….if a lot of positive people ….even healthy people don’t isolate…Covid could run wild.

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply toAgedCrone

This was the site : self-report.test-for-corona...

That site directed me to log to the NHS site. Once logged in I was redirected back to the Gov.uk site to complete.

I was asked a number of questions and had to fill in details of the test ref number etc.then asked to select ' take a photo' and the image was automatically uploaded.

I did exactly the same with my second test today but that came back as positive.

AgedCrone profile image
AgedCrone in reply toMaggsie

I just went in to my NHS Account& went through reporting a LFT and I was not asked for a photo.I have only ever reported that way…..I have only used the NHS App.

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply toAgedCrone

It does seem odd the the .Gov.uk site is different to the NHS App. No wonder people get confused.I will say that my Anti Virals team could view the images of both my tests and they had no idea why the first one was reported as negative when it was so obviously positive.

AgedCrone profile image
AgedCrone in reply toMaggsie

Not to worry …you are sorted now….but there should be a warning or as I said those testing + could become spreaders couldn’t they?People with no health problems won’t question what they think is a genuine site will they?

Maggsie profile image
Maggsie in reply toAgedCrone

Ha Ha, now my head is a bit clearer I u understand the confusion. There is the NHS App and then there is the NHS Covid 19 App. I was talking about 1 and you were talking about 2. No wonder I was confused 🤒

It’s positive. Stay home. Keep away from other people. Wait until you have 2 days of negative tests with only ONE line, then you’re clear.

A very positive test. They must’ve made a mistake. COVID for sure. Take care and get well soon!

That’s definitely positive! You don’t scan a picture into the nhs report result page. That’s only for ones that you pay for for travelling.

Hope you are feeling better now, there's a rather nasty bug going around, one that quite often tests positive for covid, though it's not

The range of systems associated with covid are wide pretty much anything could be covid. It's worth remembering there are many other bugs doing the rounds and as we've been isolated from each other for so long even mild bugs are making people very ill. As always when you are ill drink plenty of water rest take some paracetamol if you can let friends and family know you are unwell. Just to keep an eye on you.

As long as you've been taking vitamin D and have a reasonable diet and normally get plenty of fresh air with some kind of exercise, it only lasts a couple of days with around a week to get back to normal. Of course when you have other health issues it's not quite that straightforward.
