Cuts & scrapes - what antiseptic can stand up to all these drugs?
Every little cut or scratch, no matter how small, erupts into a massive cut that becomes incredibly painful and takes weeks to heal-don't you just love
immunosuppressants
. Does anyone else have this problem?

Damaging Effects of Antibodies
I have been on Coumadin since 2003 and was diagnosed with APS (positive for both types of antibodies) formally in 2010. In 2011, I had, what I and my doctors believe was, a nasty APS flare after my INR mysteriously dropped to .9 despite being on my regular Coumadin dosage. Since that time, I feel that

Cyclosporin
Hiya everybod, just a quick question. It has been suggested my son starts Cyclosporin next week (assuming all pre-tests are ok). Have read all the bumf given by hospital but thought it would be good to see what other people's experience of it is. Also having a bit of a hard time deciding if going

A Basic Guide to Immunology
It is my opinion that
immunosuppressants
should not be prescribed if there is evidence that the immune system is already depressed. Azithromycin is not an immunosuppressant but it does cause immune system modulation.

Immunosuppressants - Ciclosporin and Azathioprine
I was just wondering if anyone has experience of these two
immunosuppressants
being used in combination? I have been on Ciclosporin since July 09 at varying doses to control my idiopathic urticaria /anaphylaxis which play havoc with my asthma and make me itchy and miserable.

Swine Flu Jab and Prednisolone (sorry yes more H1N1!)
Hey guys Went to get my swine flu jab today (was in two minds anyway but suspected I should get it as I'm nursing vulnerable people, and I'm vulnerable with my asthma) but the nurse who was giving the vaccines (a very senior and knowledgeable nurse) wasn't sure if I should have it as I'm on a short

Swine Flu Vaccine and Steroids.
I'm hoping that someone could help me. I have had my first swine flu vaccine today but I have been told that due to the fact I have been on over 40mg of pred for over a month I will require a second vaccine. I knew that immunosuppressed people needed two jabs ( ie people taking immunosupressant therapy

Do Asthma meds make you immunosuppressed??
My little girl is taking Budesonide (pulmicort) 1mg twice daily as well as other things. This is a high dose considering she is only 2 years old but its keeping things at bay hopefully. Online information about Budesonide states it is a strong steroid that can leave you immunosuppressed. My concern

What are the treatment options for Sjögren's syndrome?
You may be referred to a number of different specialists when you are diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome depending on the parts of your body that it affects. Rheumatologists (joint specialists) are the main doctors who have specialist knowledge of Sjögren's syndrome. This is because of the association

Chickenpox and immunosuppressed people
If you haven't had chickenpox as a child and catch it later when on immunosuppression drugs this can be a life-threatening situation. Chickenpox can kill healthy adults who don't have immunity to it. It can certainly kill immunosuppressed ones who haven't had it before. I started Azathioprine

Flu vaccines and whether to get them
Normally flu vaccines are recommended for people on immunosupressive drugs. I've had many annual flu vaccines since being diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis in 1997. But now I can't have them, under consultant's orders. It's partly because I'm on a huge cocktail of immunosuppression drugs (now 4 immunosuppressive

Losing driving licence due to cerebral vasculitis
I don't know if people with other forms of vasculitis ever lose their driving licences due to their vasculitis, but this happened to me, with cerebral vasculitis. My symptoms are similar to MS and other related neurological diseases, and so it's not too surprising I eventually lost the licence, even
