Diabetic macular oedema and cataracts
Hi, I have DMO and currently having injections in both eyes. I went to the opticians this week and although I have mentioned cataracts at the eye clinic it has not been discussed. The optician said my cataract in my left eye had progressed a fair bit. Is it correct that it will not be operated on whilst

Panicking - have I been taking the wrong supplements?
So I just realised I was taking Coq10 600 mg but the Ubiquinone rather than the Ubiquinol. I could kick myself for this mistake! Does this matter? I am already on Stims and I am now freaking out. Does it matter? What’s the difference?

Is anyone taking Remsima by subcutaneous injection?
I am about to change from IV infusions to SC injections to avoid the hospital visit at this time of Covid 19. The dosage is 120mg every two weeks as opposed to 140mg every eight weeks. This dose is for all weights - but I'm 45kg, and it would be the same dose for someone of 75kg! I also have Methotrexate

Anyone have dry or swollen eyes and can check this photo please/ advise on drops?
Hello, hope everyone as ok as possible. My eyes have been a bit dodgy for a while, most times the lupus has flared and I’ve been in hospital, they’ve been inflamed and red along with the rest of me. Drs have queried various things, including Sjögrens and deeper inflammation like scleritis. Husband

myopic flashes
hi i’ve been myopic all my life. I’m starting to worry about flashes. I’m pretty sure i’ve had them all my life but they have been more intense. I saw an ophthalmologist and I have vitreous syneresis and peripheral cystoid degeneration which is common and benign. should I be worried? I’m 25 and my contact

Fragile X Syndrome. In shock
And to top it all.......my twin sister has now also been tested as infertile and the consultants are concerned that there may be a genetic problem called Fragile X Syndrome. We are being genetically screened and if we are carriers it’s just game over for us. I really could just cry.

Testing and Pregnenolone
Hi All Some 9 months ago I did the 4 stage saliva cortisol test and started taking pregnenolone after a problem was found. If I now check up on how the pregnenolone is doing do I have to stop taking it before doing the saliva test and if so for how long? Should I also be testing progesterone/ oestrogen

I'm a newbie. Diagnosed very recently and would love to hear from anyone with Myopic Macular Degeneration.
This is my first message. I just want to say 'hi' and introduce myself. I'm a newbie - had my first injection today - and was diagnosed with MMD last month after experiencing wavy lines in May this year. I have been told that there is a lacquer crack in my left eye. I'm grateful for this blog

Occupational health
A word of warning. This is false information but it's what I was told. I'm sharing this incase anyone has a covid risk assessment for work. I'm sure there are many software packages out there, which may give more accurate wording. I had a phone assessment. No big deal, my line manager had already supported

vision drops after injection
Does anyone know why vision drops after injection? Both my eyes got injected yesterday. Left eye vision is okay but right eye vision drops significantly. Should I contact the doctor? To be precise, I am sure my vision is dropped, not blurred. Btw, what I have is myopia related wet macular degeneration

W6R3... then injury!
Got within 60 seconds of completing the full 25 minutes, (boring, rather than exhausting) and I pulled a muscle in my calf!! Think I was trying to run faster downhill at the end; a) Jo Whiley told me to sprint if I can b) I’d run up 2 steep hills and wanted to make time up on my PB. Then the muscle

Has anyone switched injection medicine? My first post to you all.
I have a bleeding retina and have been getting Eylea injections for one year, 2 rounds of laser surgery and my vision keeps deteriorated. I feel sick for 1 to 2 days after each injection. I have asked to switch to Lucentis which is not as strong. Has anyone had any luck in switching medicine?

Dry tongue back pain
Just me again. 😩 I keep waking up with dry mouth in the middle of the night. My tongue is red irritated and slightly swollen. I’m worried this is a sign of something terrible and I can’t get back to sleep. Also my mid to lower back is hurting so much. I feel like I’m an old woman at age 37!

What medication do I stop before blood tests?
Having blood tests for thyroid function. I know not to take my levothyroxine before the test, but do I also need to stop vitamin b2? I take 400mg B2 and 80mg Propanalol to help prevent migraines, not sure if they will interfere with results? Thanks

I’m very stressed... I’ve had to refer my critical illness claim to the Financial Ombudsman as my insurers are still refusing to pay. My Haematologist has written several times to them explaining my condition but their complaints department are still refusing to pay. Has anyone else had the same
