Got within 60 seconds of completing the full 25 minutes, (boring, rather than exhausting) and I pulled a muscle in my calf!! Think I was trying to run faster downhill at the end;
a) Jo Whiley told me to sprint if I can
b) I’d run up 2 steep hills and wanted to make time up on my PB.
Then the muscle went. I completed the 60 seconds, slowly.
I’m so worried I’m going to be laid up! I’ve worked so hard! I have an amazing mix of music in my ear now but still soooooooooo bored!
And I HATE HILLS! Never knew I had so many inclines where I live!! 😫😫😫

Oh no! First and foremost, breathe. Injuries are crushing, especially when you have made so much progress. But you really, really need to take care of yourself. No one ever has done well running on an injury, or getting back out too early. You need to properly rest. There is some good advice on here about injuries (put injuries in to the search bar). I've had to take a couple of extended rests due to asthma and once stupidly falling over in the bathroom and wrenching my back, and still got to graduation in one piece. Ian, one of the administrators, gave me some really good advice. You lose almost NONE of your fitness and stamina over a two week period of time. You are well in to the programme now and have done really good work so you have this, and a good rest will do you the world of good. So relax, take care of yourself. Really, really rest. You are going to be totally ok, and will go out stronger for it when you are ready.
