Panicking - have I been taking the wrong supplements?

So I just realised I was taking Coq10 600 mg but the Ubiquinone rather than the Ubiquinol. I could kick myself for this mistake! Does this matter? I am already on Stims and I am now freaking out. Does it matter? What’s the difference?

I don’t think it does. Ubiqinol is the more expensive form of COQ10. Has something to do with the absorption ease. With ubiqinol being easier to absorb as it’s it further processed. I am sure the ladies will correct me if I am wrong but start on your umbiqionol now. When is collection?

I don’t have a date yet for it but it’s most likely going to be the week after next. Thanks so much for your response, that made me feel so much better. It’s probably worth switching to Ubiquinol now then.

In the book “It Starts With an Egg” she recommends 400mg mg Ubiquinol but says if you can’t get that then 600mg of Ubiquinone is just as good, she just adds 200 to make up for the lower absorption rate Leo mentioned. So it sounds like you are spot on. Good luck. X

Thanks so much! That’s calmed me down a lot! I really appreciate the support! I will carry on with it then. Xx

Hi sorry to jump on here. I have been taking 200mg ubiquinol for 3-4 months. Now am worried this is not enough ....I have read that book but must’ve missed the bit about 400mg. I cautiously followed the instructions on bottle especially as my clinic will not recommend it. Hoping makes some sort of a difference x

Sorry- jumping on too!! ... I am also taking 200mg of Ubiquinol daily. I am sure I read somewhere that the amount was recommended... x

Loads of different things get recommended depending who you talk to. Try not to worry too much. I don't believe it's a case of doing or not doing one thing will be solely responsible for the results. It's a minefield and when we're doing ivf we're very open to being influenced one way or another. I certainly was! If you've been taking some supplements and leading a generally healthy lifestyle then youre doing what you need to do to give your body a good chance. X

My nutritionist prescribed 200mg daily for me, I think it's plenty x

Phew.... that’s a relief to know, thanks. I agree I think once it’s in your system 200mg is sufficient.

Are you taking supplements until transfer ? Am confused don’t know whether to stop now as stimming or keep going until transfer ?

Yes I am taking them until ET. There are a few I will drop after egg collection though.

Great, so you’re keeping going with ubiquinol until after transfer ?

Yes I will. The book its starts with an egg says you could take it until you get a BFP. So I am not sure if I will do that. I might go for that long actually just to make sure that i don’t stop it too early. X
