reports of other autoimmune disorders following GCA?
Sorry this may be a bit lengthy.... In fall of 2018 I was dx with severe dry eye, followed a few months later with severe dry mouth. I was 67 at the time and had never had any illness of any sort in my life. From symptoms, drs thought Sjogrens, a autoimmune disease. While having a lip biopsy for

The Well Red TheraPad - my initial experience
As a time-saving measure, I decided to do my TheraPad sessions while sitting at my laptop. However, I found it awkward to put on the elastic belt, and to line it up correctly, each session. I greatly reduced this problem by sewing the elastic belt to the TheraPad, taking care to only sew along the

Blurred vision
Please can I ask if it’s normal when reducing that you can develop blurred vision in one eye with floaters and slight numbness on and off at left side of eye. It happened 2wks into my reducing to 12mg. I am reducing @ 1mg every 4weeks 🤔🙏

Outdoor swimming, pred, cataracts and tinted goggles!
In response to my recent post regarding MTX and photosensitivity, jinasc reminded me that bright sunlight may increase the potential pred. side effect of an increased risk of cataracts. I have been dutifully wearing my sunnies whenever there has been a hint of sunshine but had to take them off when

I want to recommend EMDR and Prazosin for PTSD
They both work pretty good! ESPECIALLY EMDR, it even helped me with my fear of heights and now I can ride roller coasters! Prazosin is an RX for flashbacks.

Irridioplasty
Has anyone had or know about this? I had irridotomies over 20 years ago for acute angle closure glaucoma. After an attack in March I have been told that only cataract surgery can open angles but I thought I had read that irridioplasty could do this by laser. I only have small cataracts that are not

Myopic Degeneration
Hi all, I'm new here and I'm anxious. I was sent to a retina specialist today and diagnosed with myopic degeneration. I've always had very poor vision (-15 ex in contacts) and extreme nearsightedness. I received my first eye injection today and nearly passed out from the anxiety. It was painful but

Eylea Intraocular Pressure
Eylea prefilled syringe injection causes intense light flashing and temporary loss of vision due to excess intraocular pressure. Doctor claims poor stop markings on syringe body cause the over volume. Doctor is reluctant to return to former conventional syringe where I was problem free for five years

Drug for glaucoma prevention, refill problems
I’m in the US. I’ve been on Zioptan eye drops because of being at risk of glaucoma from GCA and extreme nearsightedness to keep pressure down and prevent glaucoma. I was recently denied this drug by my insurance company and switched to the generic which caused me problems initially.

Update on my post: Hashimoto's in range, switch to Armour
Hi...I'm on NDT now. 9 days. I had to switch to an old Armour script I tried 16 mo ago. The Levoxyl T4 I took, 16 days. A tiny cyst-like lump near tear duct by birth
My 6 years old has a small cyst-like bump in his left eye’s tear duct by birth. It seems it’s right on the upper lacrimal point or tear duct. Although he never complains about vision impairment, itching, or pain, neither water dripping from the eye nor his tear gets blocked when he cries, his eye is
