Advice please - oral typhoid vaccine taken whilst on methotrexate!
Does anyone have experience of taking the oral form of the live typhoid vaccine (vivotif tablets) whilst on methotrexate ? I was prescribed this recently by our surgery because they were out of stock of typhoid jabs and we are going to Egypt at the end of May. I took the medication a week and half

PUPPP / PEP / itchy rash
I have had itching all over my body, except feet, hands and face, for about the last three weeks. It started off without any rash, which was concerning in case it was Obstetric Chlorestasis, but two blood tests do not indicate any cause for concern in that respect, thankfully. However, the itch is getting

Will the following holiday vaccinations effect my thyroid?
Hello everyone, I wondered if someone could advise me as to whether any of these vaccinations would have a detrimental effect on my thyroid, I'm hypothyroid on currently taking 125mg. I'm planning to head to Suriname in South America and have read online that I need the following; Hepatitis

I have been itchy all over (mostly bump, arms, legs and my back) for the past couple of weeks. I haven't noticed any itchy on the palms of my hands or soles of my feet. I think the itching is getting gradually worse, last night I woke up scratching. I can't see a rash. I went to the Dr about it a

Finally got some liothyronine prescribed - but why is nothing ever straightforward??
I've been a long term lurker on this site. I've learnt so much just by reading the comments on blogs and answers to questions so I can't thank you enough for that! Just to explain, I'm not the person in my family with hypothyroid problems. That would be my husband. Except - just to explain a bit more

fostair and hydrocortisone
Just a quick one, I've been changed from Seretide 250 (2 twice a day), Fluticasone 250 (2 twice a day) and 7.5mg of prednisilone a day, to Fostair 100/6 (4 twice a day) and hydrocortisone 20mg in the morning. These changes were made based on issues of adrenal suppresion and the testing of it and nothing

My life with an ileostomy from the start
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2002. It progressed quite quickly and by December 2005 I was virtually housebound because of incontinence. In March 2096 I haemorrhaged and was admitted to hospital. I was given high dose steroids for three weeks in an attempt to get the UC under control but

My body is refusing to play ball and I’m struggling to keep on top of everything.
I don't think I know what to do anymore. I feel like in some way I have messed up my treatment plan but I am trying my best not to blame myself as I know that’s not healthy and circumstances are really difficult for me at the moment. I have been ill at this level for a long time and I am struggling

To those who responded to my questions a few wks ago about low iron and high ferritin and t3 and hydrocortisone. Haven't been able to respond individually as just too much going on for me to deal with and my (small) support system has totally crashed and nothing seems to be working out at the moment

Other treatments for Behcet's
It's common for Behcet's patients to need other drugs too: anti-depressants to help manage mood and pain; stomach acid meds; anti-nausea drugs; NSAIDs, migraine meds;
topical
hydrocortisone
; viscous lidocaine, etc. Most important on top of all this? Rest, and lots of it.
