The waiting room.
Sat here in the waiting room, Watching for my name. To go and see the doctor Well that is why I came. Not to watch the silver screen, For it to show my name. I watch TV at home not here That was not my aim. But now I keep my eyes glued, Cos my hearings not too good. I need to see my name on screen,

bladder cancer
I have bladder cancer, solid tumor , inoperable. I've had bcg and gemcitabine which has been ineffective. I've had 2 stents in ureters because tumor has pressed on ureters and effected kidney function. I'm 81 years old. No treatment has been offered.

100 years later, why don’t we commemorate the victims and heroes of ‘Spanish flu’?
Worldwide, the pneumonic influenza pandemic of 1918–19 killed an estimated 50-100 million people – at least three times all of the deaths caused by the First World War. Influenza vaccinations were first made available in the 1930's: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza_vaccine Full article by Peter

HI, I am new here.
Hello, this is my first post. I am not officially diagnosed with APS yet. I had a stroke while on vacation. I am 49 years old, had flown two days prior to the CVA and was on an antiviral for shingles around the right side of my torso. I was in Orlando and had ridden roller coasters for two days, as well

What is "Healthy Eating" and how do you know you are doing it?
As a child one day I fell down from the top of our stone staircase from top to the bottom. My mum treated me by putting butter over the painful parts, including my forehead. I don't want to repeat the incident, but without much external help my body healed itself. Today there are no scars to remind

Any advice
Hi all. Long story short, I've had essential tremor (or what I thought was ET) since 2012, over the past 6 months it has got progressively worse, along with some other neurological symptoms. On the 27th of December I was admitted to hospital due to complete paralysis/weakness in both my legs. Fast forward

Hi all Been having a rotten few days, headaches, stomach stuff, screaming joints, low fever. Doc says to tough it out x 7 days. As if I have a choice! Eating BRAT diet. Trying to stay hydrated. Yes I had a flu shot. This is supposedly viral. Got worse tho after my Enbrel shot on Tuesday. Coincidence

Suffering with flu!
I am really cursing for not having a flu vaccine. I did go to the doctors twice and for various reasons they could not do it and as I havn't had flu since I was in my 20's I was stupid and didn't get it done. Now boy do I regret that. I had forgotten how ill it makes you feel. On the plus side I am

Latest update from Rienij,
Dear friends thank you for your support over the last three month. It certainly has been turbulent. But today I finally escaped from the hospital. Have now been in hospital of the trust. 4 hospitals in all. Enough is enough. Back home having carers coming in 4 x a day. Hopefully that will work nicely

Am I overreacting to husbands flu? My husband is 43. His dad had heart attacks from age 38 and died at 54. My husband is also asthmatic.
He is currently suffering a bad bout of flu having forgotten to have his flu jab. I’m really concerned about his health based on his dads history and feel the nurse he saw today and the 111 consultation have overlooked an underlying issue. Am I over-worrying or should I push for more attention? Thanks

CLL, Bladder Cancer and BCG coming up for me
I've been on Ibrutinib for about 1 year, diagnosed in 2009, first round of chemo in 2012 at Duke Med on a clinical trial stopped because of extreme hemolytic reaction. Chemo infusions again in 2015, worked for a couple of years. Started Ibrutinib in April 2018. Prostate resection in D3cemer 2018.

Now what do I do?
Advice please! I graduated in the summer feeling very smug. Started on retirement at 65 having never ever run, but made it and could do 5k in 36 minutes. Blood pressure down from borderline needing medication to completely normal and puffy ankles vanished! Smug is an understatement! However, I have

Shingles.
New Canadian paper below warns that shingles may spuriously affect PSA. *** I caught chickenpox 45 years ago from my daughter & really should get a shingles vaccine shot. My wife, who did get the shot has since had 2 attacks. Tomorrow will be 3 years since her doctor called an ambulance to take her

Shingles vaccine
My GP is recommending I get the shingles vaccine. I thought I had read that PMR (which I have) can be a side effect of the vaccine. I am asking what you think.

FLU JAB AND VENESECTIONS
Flu Jab. Probably a coincidence but had my first flu jab last week a couple of days before my venesection. Within another couple of days developed the worst sinus infection I have had for at least 3 or 4 years? I am diagnosed with secondary PV and take aspirin and my venesections are every 6 weeks.
