First of all, thank you to all who answered my panicky post! I have now had my first flu jab ever! I am sure that our lady doctor thoroughly enjoyed sticking that needle into my arm !! She had been one of the ones last year that had told me off for not having it! So far so good,re side effects unless

Flu Jab
I have never had a flu jab though I have been eligible for a few years. I wasn't convinced they helped and had seen lots of people become ill after them. I hate medication and tend to avoid it if possible. However, with IPF I am under a lot of pressure to have the jab. I did have a chest infection last

I’m back !
Still not quite 100 percent after the evil flu jab, but well enough to manage 2:2 😀 Man, it’s cold out there !

Hello all, I am late today posting this but the reason being I have been in a quandary as to what to write today? Do I write an inspirational quote, or give you info on the latest Flu vaccine to have for yourselves and your loved one. Or just chat about what worked for me when my father in law had a

Flu Jab
Evening all Saw my GP the other day and she said it would be a good idea to have my flu jab there and then, so I had it. Few days later I feel like sh*t, blocked nose, cough, generally feeling so much worse than before. Is it possible to get the flu or flu-like symptoms after you've had it? Oh and I

Flu Jab?
So just been to my GP who has put me on a course of steroids after that nasty cough/cold bug doing the rounds has hit and I haven’t been able to shake off for the last two weeks and as a consequence has set my so called seasonal asthma off! So been back on my Clenil Modulite as it hit my breathing straight

PMR symptoms. Seronegative RA diagnosis.
Hi all! I'm a 61yr old female, living in the states. This is my first post. I've been having debilitating pain and stiffness since September 2018. At first, I didn't know what was happening to me. I went from walking 5 miles a day to barely being able to get out of bed. My sister sent me an article

Shingles vaccine update
Hi folks, and thanks for your responses. I called my haematology department today and they advised that it is ok for my wife to have the zostavax shingles vaccine containing the live virus and that it does not pose a risk to me. I'm not sure if the NHS currently allows shingrix (non-live virus) in

Lumps and bruising
Hi guys, Do any of you develop swelling after you bump or knock yourself? I know that’s normal but I’ve recently been getting swelling the size of snooker balls, well half a snooker ball. I’ve also noticed my eyesight in one eye is a little blurred and I have the chest pains that I often get every now

Flu Jab?
Has anyone had their flu jab? I Had mine early on Friday and have been coughing and using Ventolin ever since. I was doing so well! Of course they say it’s just a coincidence, I wondered how many others have ‘coincidentally’ had an Asthma problem a few hours after their jab? I realise that catching

Shingles vaccine?
I am about to start on Methotrexate next week , starting on a low dose. I take Sulfasalazine but it has stopped working so well so I will be taking them both and working up the dosage of Methotrexate. My Consultant asked if I’d had the Shingles jab as I should do. She told me 2 yrs ago not to have it

Flu Jab
My doctor strongly recommended the flu jab, that's the NHS guidelines and it's free for anyone with a heart condition. He said flu can be a really serious problem, with a much heightened risk of fatality, for anyone with a heart problem. I had the jab yesterday from the nurse at the doctor's practise

stopping Ibrutinib
I had to stop Ibrutinib for 7 days prior to an operation to remove a cancer tumor from my bladder and another 7 days after the surgery. Also, in 3 week time I am to start a once a week (for 6 weeks) infusion of BCG directly into my Bladder. BCG is a weakened form of Tuberculosis. This tricks the body

Thanks to the very helpful posts on this site (and a great GP) I now have a much better understanding of pmr, pred, tapering and the like. Knowledge I would have gladly forsaken had the need not arisen. Have had a couple of blips on the way down but currently comfortable on 10mg and planning the next

NEW OVER 65 FLU JAB CAUSING PROBLEMSHi I had my flu jab 11 days ago and am feeling really bad as if my fibromyalgia has flared up. I,m getting headaches and very sore muscles. Has anyone else found that this years flu jab has made them feel worse this year? Previous years have been fine.
