POTS - useful article interview
Quite a few people, including myself, have or have had POTS and I saw this article describing how it ca be diagnosed in a clinic without Tilt Table test - https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/995674?ecd=wnl_infocu1_broad_broad_per Some excellent explanations alongside advice for exercising - wish

Hi, I have always been an anxious person, since the age of 5 years old. I am now 67 years, and I am totally obsessed with my blood pressure and readings. I know I have high bp, as it is in my family history. But it drives me insane.

Statins and Malcolm Kendrick's: The Great Cholestrol Con!
I saw Helvella's post regarding the article in the Guardian on NHS checks; I did post this elsewhere, but I guess would only be visible to folk following the original post, so I thought it may be helpful to post separately. Some on here may well be aware of this work: The work of Malcolm Kendrick

I am getting regular hiccups for the last three days - Is this a sign of something seriously wrong ? I am 72 Yrs old on diabetics tablets and with insulin the sugar level is under control - I regularly have a peg of whiskey and ginger beer with the evening meal. Also, I take a few tablets daily to keep

Looking for advice, yet again, please.
I had an appointment to see my GP today regarding high blood pressure. I have been taking 10mg Ramipril for some time but recently BP has been high and erratic. Apparently, I cannot go to a higher Ramipril dose, therefore, need to change. I’m aware that some BP medication can interfere with RLS, so

Alpro Almond Milk..... why do they do this? Any chemists have words of advice?
I stopped having cow's milk sometime ago and have been very happy using Alpro Almond milk instead. It contains Vitamins D2, E, B2 and B12 and calcium as shown in the photo. I noticed today that the packaging had changed and thought to myself "I wonder if anything else has?" So I checked. Yes indeed

high aldosterone, high renin.. renal artery stenosis?
had tests re done bloods and urine due to high blood pressure. Sure I’ve had them done two or three times in past year but this time renin elevated at 101, and markedly elevated aldosterone at 969. Albumin/creative ratio elevated at 6.2 (upper limit 3.5). Strongly pointing towards secondary hyperaldosteronism

Longstanding hypertension
Hello everyone I have been on meds for hypertension since my late twenties. I'm now 54 and BP is irratic. I saw a Cardiologist yesterday who after reviewing my CT angiogram and echocardiogram said my arteries and heart are perfection, like brand new copper pipes. I have to say, I'm thrilled, I assumed

Air fryer?
I've been eating LCHF for 4 years, and have experienced many health benefits from it. But while eating high fat, I have never turned to deep fried foods. That's mostly because I am not prepared to deep fry in my home, and outside the oil is mostly seed oils, that is highly recycled. Thus I have been

Bp meds and libido in women (perimenopausal)
I’m on 12.5mg Losartan for raised Blood pressure. I’m 42 and perimenopausal. I’ve been on testosterone for my libido for about 7 weeks with little effect. I can pinpoint my libido falling off a cliff with starting Losartan. Is this a thing? Any other women who have found Bp meds affected their libido

Candesartan for high BP
Has anyone taken Candesartan for high BP? I've recently taken Doxazosin, and Peridropil, both of which made RL much worse. My GP has prescribed this to start today. I'm hoping for better luck with this.

venting post - vaginal bleeding
I have not been around this site for a while as I have been cruising along not really thinking about CLL. But last week I experienced some post menopausal vaginal bleeding, which has me scared to death! I am supposed to leave for a trip with my daughter to Italy today and I am so preoccupied I don’t

Felodipine
I’m 70 I had a couple of spikes in blood pressure this year, both times when in a lot of pain - a root filling needed and a case of shingles and was advised to see GP. I would say my average blood pressure has been between 130 and 140/90 so outside the normal range I started on felodipine six weeks

My baby girl.
Good morning all. I've been writing my updates as anonymous as possible but trying to give relevant information and updates to the condition. In reality I've been writing on my wife's behalf. She was diagnosed in February this year and was taking tremendous strides in getting better. She looked fantastic

Blood pressure medication
I've been on Ramipril and Bendroflumethiazide for years to manage hypertension, associated with T2 diabetes, and subsequently AF came into play, with betablockers and Rivaroxaban. But my blood pressure still kept creeping up, so the GP threw Doxazosin into the mix. This got the BP down to a better level
