I've been eating LCHF for 4 years, and have experienced many health benefits from it. But while eating high fat, I have never turned to deep fried foods. That's mostly because I am not prepared to deep fry in my home, and outside the oil is mostly seed oils, that is highly recycled.
Thus I have been interested in an air fryer for a while, now I am tempted by a particular one on sale. I am pretty keen, but also imagine adding butter or olive oil to food before eating.
Is anyone using an air fryer on a LCHF diet? Any suggestions to add?
I have the same question! I want it to make chicken nuggets, fried chicken shin and same people say that it is great for steak. If i have to use oil it is olive or coconut oil. I have made fried chicken in coconut oil and nobody can tell.
I have an air fryer, and it is quite good. We have a model that makes rotisserie chicken, and can use skewer racks to make kebab skewers, which might be a helpful option if you're LCHF.
It's probably just temporarily back up so it can be discounted as "black Friday sales", a lot of prices are sneaking up at the moment like this... I definitely bought ours in a prime day/black Friday type sale.
Nah, it's more nefarious than that. It was already a Black Friday offer, which is why I didn't snatch it up, I assumed they would keep the prices all week. But it turns out Argos changes the prices every day! Now it's back down to £70 (the price I first saw it at), but they have lowered the price of the larger and better featured 2 drawer model (but more than I need) so their is only £5 between them!
I can't wait to see what they do tomorrow 🫦
5.7 litre air fryer £70, and 6.7 litre dual drawer model £75
😄 Thank you tabby cat! You took me down the rabbit hole, in a good way! When I started replying to you this morning, I put together an argument why the bigger one wasn't better. But while drafting that, I did a bit of googling (and youtube-ing) to confirm I was right, and eventually decided I wasn't, and I should get the bigger model. And when I thought that, I could have paid for it today and picked it up tomorrow. But I procrastinated, and when I finally bit the bullet, it was sold out everywhere near me! I managed to reserve one an hour away from me. I am considering letting that go, but I have just found out that I must have got the last one from that store, and I can't see one in London at all now!
I have a week to decide to pick it up, so may yet go without and get a refund. But yeah, I think you are right; bigger is better.
There's something alike to "destiny" in your indecision. If an hour away is easy, go for it! If,on the other hand, it's a trail it's just not meant to be.
I tend to do market research before a biggish buy, then I ask myself will I use it or will it become one of those things to sell when I get around to it.
