Hiccups ?

I am getting regular hiccups for the last three days - Is this a sign of something seriously wrong ? I am 72 Yrs old on diabetics tablets and with insulin the sugar level is under control - I regularly have a peg of whiskey and ginger beer with the evening meal. Also, I take a few tablets daily to keep everything under control, otherwise I'm fit normally. My doubt is it the tablets OR the drinks causing the hiccups ? Any advice please [T/Q]

I also get hiccups after I eat and also after taking my meds. I had surgery on my parathyroid last February to remove a bign tumor, everything went well, no pain, I could eat all foods. The only difference is I get hiccups every day. I eat slowly and always the last one to finish my meal, before and since I had surgery. I will mention it next time I see my doctor. Take care, Sue
