I'v stopped taking my cholesterol tablets because of muscle or joint pain and started taking Plant Sterols, it would be good to hear your thoughts on this.

Husband with eGFR of 57.
When my husband told me 3 days ago that his egfr was 57 ... it was a shock. No other results were abnormal, he doesnt have any underlying conditions that could have caused this and he is only in the late 30s. I have started gathering recipes with low phosphorus, low protein.. Is there anything else

Good results with LCHF
Some 3 months ago, when I had a debilitating viral fever, my health check up showed pre-diabetes. Doc asked me to start metformin, but in addition I continued with LCHF diet , though not strictly. Then I went for another check-up 2 days ago and the lab tests showed the following results (Sept. figures

High blood pressure after talking
I have noticed that after meeting with friends and possible talking animatedly that my blood pressure rises quite steeply. I suffer from anxiety and wondered if anyone else suffers like this and whether possible the two were connected.

LCHF and protein drinks?
Are they compatible? I am not planning using the drinks for sports or body-building but simply as a convenient source of protein while trying to get into a fuller LCHF diet. Except eggs, fish and occasionally bacon I am averse to other non-veg stuff, including chicken.

cholestrol results
advice wanted on conflicting cholestrol blood fasting test. I am a woman of 55 years. Total cholestrol: 307mg/dl. Ldl cholestrol: 193mg/dl. Hdl cholestrol. 100.mg/dl. Triglycerides. 71 mg/dl. Should this be cause for concern as although total and ldl cholestrols are high, hdl is also high, ie: good

Got my results....
GP rang earlier today, following my 24 hr blood pressure monitor, the average reading is 173/92, so she's prescribed meds (can't remember the name), I'm going for an ECG and urine testing in a couple of weeks, any advice on all this is gratefully received (my mum has angina and a pacemaker), I've already

Question and opinions about cholesterol
Basic facts. I'm a 66 year old male. Diagnosed with high cholesterol years ago. Initially prescribed Atorvastatin 10mg daily for a number of years. Eventually I often said to my wife, in response to things she said, " You didn't tell me that!" She always suggested that she had. This went on for quite

Total Cholesterol in Isolation is a Meaningless Measure
I keep reading posts made by people who provide only their Total Cholesterol number. If you are looking for peer guidance you must provide more details such as: Gender, height, weight, age LDL, HDL, non-HDL, Triglycerides
