Not sure what to do
My liver specialist wants to take me off my azathioprine/immun supressant for 6 weeks. My fecal test came back abnormal for lactoferrin. Dr google said that is ulcerative colitis My GI does not believe that I have that. My liver specialist doesn’t believe that azathioprine is causing my bowel issue

Delta-Tocotrienol.
New Italian cell study. I use DeltaGold tocotrienols as my sole vitamin E supplement [1]. It is derived from annatto & contains only the delta (~90%) & gamma (~10%) fractions. The PCa literature suggests that the greatest therapeutic benefit would be from the gamma fraction, but that the greatest cardiovascular

Spanish study using TUDCA and the other NAC, Vitamin E, and alpha-lipoic acid
I’m sure many have stumbled on the two separate Spanish studies using TUDCA and the other NAC, Vitamin E, and alpha-lipoic acid. I’ve tried each for awhile, however stopped. It is very difficult to try and do a study on yourself. Has anyone had any success/results?

Imbruvica with Hep B
Three years ago when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma the first doctor went out of his way to protect my liver. In 1982, 35 years ago I had a full blown case of Hepatitis B. I was tested for Hep B antibodies before I went on the first chemo medication. Along with the first three chemo drugs

Travel insurance (I'm in UK)
Hello everyone! I hope you're all well. I haven't been on here for a while, I needed time to accept everything, struggled with panick attacks but A therapist later and a bit of counselling made me feel better. 😊 I'm planning to make a few trips this year, all in Europe and I have never had travel insurance

Antioxidant supplement ivf
Hi all, just wondering if anyone took an antioxidant supplement during ivf. I’m taking a prenatal vitamin (which has the recommended folic acid and vitamin d advised by my clinic) but this has also been suggested by a friend. From what I can tell antioxidant supplements have the same level of selenium

Try Another Hepatologist or just wait?
No one knows what's the cause, but I do have inflammation in the liver and it's been ongoing. I've been to both a gastro and a Hepatologist and they said crytogenic hepatitis. However, its treated like a disease (kinda, no medication though) I was offered to try again and get a third opinion. Should

Hepatitis jabs
Hi all it just occurred to me that I haven’t posted about this. The advice is to have inoculations against hepatitis because if you’re liver is already struggling, contracting hepatitis is going to make things a whole lot worse. I got tested first cause my mum has hepatitis, then asked for the jabs

Watch and wait
I finally got the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis a few weeks ago after numerous tests, scans and liver biopsy. The liver consultant was keen to start me on steroids and immunosupprants but as I've previously had issues with steroids I wasn't keen. He arranged for me to see a specialist pharmacist

Going for my autoimmune hepatitis appointment this week after a 2yr wait
I’d put the post above up 2 year ago, can anyone give me advice on questions to ask at this initial appointment with the hepatologist this week please. I’d positive antibodies for autoimmune hepatitis and elevated liver enzymes. Many thanks 🎈

Just had a MRE
Just an update....I had a fibroscan several months ago, just after I was diagnosed with PBC, that showed stage 2-3 fibrosis. It was a real shocker considering I feel good, my labs were not terrible, and I appeared to be in good health. My hepatologist was also a bit surprised at the results so I was

Quick q- what vitamin E dose do people take with 200mcgselenium ?
Hi all I’ve been previously taking 400 iu of Vit E )natural source ) thats 268mg and over 2000% of RDA! As I am now pregnant I don’t want to be overdoing it although I haven’t had issues in the past. I know Vit E is far soluble and can be toxic in high amounts I’m not sure if just normal 100% rDa is

Vitamin E
It's one of the best vitamins you can take. It helps your hair and nails grow. Anyone take it besides me? Leslie

Autoimmune hepatitis
I finally got the confirmed diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis today. It's not a shock as I have previously had at least one autoimmune disease and I don't drink. Unfortunately the hepatologist I saw in early Dec has now left my local hospital so I'll probably be referred to Manchester royal hospital.
