I am just enquiring if anyone else who has recently had open
heart
surgery
, has a hole at the top of their scar. It appears like a hole but I have noticed wire sticking out (appears white) Just wondered if anyone has noticed this and what it could indicate.

Open heart surgery
After my cardiology review midweek I’m being booked in for an angiogram and it’s been suggested I will be considered for an aortic valve replacement in the next couple of months. It seems the fact I get breathless on exertion and my valve is only 25% of the diameter it should be puts me close to the

scar from open heart surgery
I have lately been to the DRs with my open heart scar.. The top and bottom of the scar is oozing yellow pus, which has been dressed. Since noticing the oozing I have also noticed the left side of my breast, back and chest is very painful and uncomfortable especially in the morning and evenings. I don

medication after open heart surgery
is there anyone on this site who has had a heart valve replacement and is now using biologic meds to control their ra? If so, I’d love to hear your experience. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve which needed replacing in June (an event hastened by a toxic reaction to leflunomide). I’ve had an Inspiris

Preparing for Open Heart surgery
To my shock I was called on the 3rd to be told there had been a mistake and they had realised I also had PAPVD and was now going to be having open
heart
surgery
. I’m still going through tests and am awaiting a date but I’ve been told it won’t be long.

was in 2005, I had two that year due to endocarditis. I had an aortic aneurysm and my aortic valve was replaced with a titanium st judes valve.

feeling alone
I have a very rare
heart
condition and require open
heart
surgery
very soon. It’s all come as a big shock as I didn’t know I had one. I don’t feel typical feelings of anger or worry etc. I feel really lonely.

Had open
heart
surgery
in 2005. Stent put in aorta in 2010. And pretty sure my next visit to vascular surgeon in March for my PAD in legs will get more stents. I use Heat Holder socks and gloves. Also wool socks. HeatHolders.com

Hello all, I’m awaiting

Living alone after open heart surgery
When discharged from hospital after open
heart
surgery
are you able to look after yourself such as reaching up and down, carrying out laundry basket, lifting pots and pans, cooking, getting in and out of bath. Or is it expected you will have someone who can assist you.

Back to work
So with great excitement, a little trepidation and many scar hiding new tops, I’m returning to work today following my open
heart
surgery
. Just mornings initially but was discharged by the cardiac specialist hospital on Monday back to my local hospital.
