So with great excitement, a little trepidation and many scar hiding new tops, I’m returning to work today following my open heart surgery. Just mornings initially but was discharged by the cardiac specialist hospital on Monday back to my local hospital. I know that full recovery will be many more months but feel very thankful to be taking the next steps.
I remember reading a similar post when I first had my diagnosis and hoping I would be able to post something similar. Well here it is. Keep smiling if you are just beginning your journey. The waiting for the op is the worst. Afterwards progress might be slow but it’s in the right direction.

I'm three years on from triple heart bypass. Took me eight weeks to regain some strength through walking indoors during pandemic. no pain during recovery excellent team at Kings college hospital I had a further leg bypass two years on due to claudication in left leg again at kings college very sore legs during walking as for working I'm a retired self employed business man so I'm haven't thought about returning to work but if you feel good returning to work by all means do enjoy your new found freedom and grab life by the goolies🫢 thanks and all the best Tony Doc.😔
Thank you, my goals were to go abroad again and return to work. There were times when I doubted either would happen but couldn’t be happier getting back to ‘normal’. Sure I’ll be moaning about it in a couple of months!
