WISH I HAD BEEN THERE!
My husband ,newly diagnosed with A.F. and in receipt of letter from G.P. offering flu jab, went to have this this morning with the practice nurse. She said " I don't know why you need this. It's not as if A.F. is serious. Nearly everyone over the age of 60 has it". My husband replied that the doctor

HELPFUL info summing up the case re lupus patients & flu/pneumonia vaccination
Just read this today...after several years mulling the pros & cons of vaccination over...this seems a pretty good summary to me: http://www.medpagetoday.com/Rheumatology/GeneralRheumatology/54422?xid=nl_mpt_DHE_2015-11-02&eun=g714072d0r This past year, I've been referred by my Lupus & Vasculitis clinic

Flu jab
I've just been told by my surgery that I am not entitled to a free jab. I had my Ivor Lewis in July 2012 with chemo before the op. I am 64 and have had free jabs for the last two years. I'm not bothered about the money 😎 but wondered what the experiences of others on the site may have been? Best wishes

Time off after transfer? Achy muscles?
Just curious if people took much time off work after transfer? I was told by the clinic it is a personal choice, that you can pretty much get back to normal right away apart from a list of things to avoid for a week. I had ET yesterday and just thought I'd take it easy today & tomorrow and then it's

Hashimoto's and the flu jab
Does anybody have any links to evidence regarding the safety of having the flu jab when you have an autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's? I wouldn't normally even consider taking the jab but I currently work closely with a colleague who constantly has colds and flu-like illnesses, so I'm concerned I'm

Yearly copd review.
Had my yearly copd review with the practice nurse. Waste of time me taking time out from my work and driving to doctors and back. Went in and sat down, she said how can I help, I said you sent me a letter for my yearly review, oh yes how are you doing, you look well, are you on any inhalers, I said

Hypo and now pneumonia
Pneumonia struck me out of the blue last Monday night, no warnings signs at all and I had to be ambulanced to hospital. The pain was horrendous. My questions are should I request a pneumonia jab and/or flu jab? The hospital phoned to say that I also have a nodule on the other lung which they want to

Pneu-C-13 and Flu Shot timing?
I'm getting the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) tomorrow. I have Cll stage 0, no symptoms. Just wondering if anyone knows how long a person needs to wait before you get the flu shot after getting Pneu vac? Should I wait for a few days or is it safe to get it right away?

Flu Jab and Humira
Hi, I enjoy the forum and have found some great advice from you all so thank you for your kind help. I'm due to have a flu jab tomorrow at my GP's. But I didn't think about Humira when I booked and took my injection yesterday. Should I cancel my flu jab, do I need to be off the Humira. It's too late

Fun and games
I went back to my GP practice yesterday and saw my regular GP. I was there 3 weeks ago complaining of a number of symptoms and was basically ignored! At least yesterday my regular GP took me seriously and took bloods etc. I also got the flu jab. All in left arm. Went home, all grand except I forgot

Shingles Shot, ET and Hydroxea
Hi all, you have always helped me out so again I need to ask a question. I was recently diagnosed with ET but surely I have had this for a long while, my GP was concerned until I raised alarm buttons. Long story short went to the Hemo Dr, had BMB and scans and blood work and nothing showed but high
