Definitely recommend having flu vaccine and advised to by the team at C of E. It is not a live virus so fine when immunosuppressed with your meds. People with Behcet's can have big flare-ups if they catch flu so best to be protected. I had my vaccine last Friday at Gp surgery and no problems afterwards. in UK it is free for patients with a chronic disease / autoinflammatory disease like Behcet's

Hi, I am on same meds as you and I have had the flu jab and the pneumonia jab without any problem. My first flu jab a few years back made me poorly but that was before all this.

I recommend it - too easy for us to get sick with an easily preventable killer.

Take care

Chris

I've always had my flu shot.. this year however I had a bad reaction from the start. As soon as I had arm swelled and had an algeic reaction, followed by migraine flu like symptoms which the kicked up an terrible flare up of ulcers and blisters in my mouth and ulcers below.. The last 3 weeks have been awful!!!! I would think very carefully about having another flu jab. 😧 I know they change the vaccine every year but this year's really wasn't good for me.

Hi, I get a yearly fly shot without any problems. Please see my "Essential Behcet's" blog post about "Getting flu vaccinations when you have Behcet's." Here's the URL: behcets.blogspot.com/2010/0...

All the best,

Had no problems in past. Like Frisky this year my are swelled up a few hours after, which was a bit worrying - but turned out to be fine. Although it looked odd and was swollen there was no pain and it didn't go red and hot (which apparently is not good - if it does this go to hospital) it went down in a few days (draw pen around the swelling to check that it is going down not getting worse) no other problems but that. Didn't realise they were different each year till after this. I have asthma too so I still think it's best to have jab.

I actually was flared by this year's flu shot as well. Had no problems in previous years.

The flu shot has triggered a major flare up for me, two years in a row.

This is the first year in many I didn’t get the flu shot. I’ve had flu twice and really bad flares subsequently. Get the shot. I’ve been really poorly and I’m sure it’s down to not having flu shot this season. I got flu at Christmas and currently writing this from my sick bed ☹️
