I surprised myself at my lack of reaction when the urologist told me a had a tumor in my bladder- was just one more thing to do. had that surgery and a follow up one- then the seemingly endless series of BCG infusions and more inspections. the most uncomfortable parts of it are: wearing the cath after

Hi I have been getting recurring shingles for the past two years. Doctors refuse vaccine because of my age (nearly 51) Has anyone had the vaccine ? And benefited? Many thanks

BCG treatment was a success!
Had my 3rd Cystoscopy today following a 6 week course of BCG. Apparently my bladder is in terrific shape and the cancer has not returned since being removed in December. Looks like I will be keeping my bladder after all. I was sure I was going to lose it! Good luck to everyone else out there waiting

Hi--I've never posted before, but have been encouraged by many of your posts. In Jan., I had a kidney removed because of a tumor that turned out to be a urothelial carcinoma (more typically a bladder cancer). The doctors felt chemo would be too hard on my remaining kidney. At my quarterly check-up

Ten years on - if only I knew then, what I know now. (warning - long post)
I attended a “well woman screening” in 1999. I had no reason to doubt anything doctors said so without doing any research or asking any questions I agreed to have a tetanus booster vaccination and 10 days later I was paralysed with Guillain Barre syndrome, It took around 5 years to fully recover.

Does anyone suffer from oral lichen planus as well as thyroid?
Hi All, I'm new here. Last year I was feeling totally eshausted, my GP gave me B12 injection as this was low, I was to have this every 3 months. At the same time I was given my flu jab, shortly after I started developing a rash on my arms, feet, underarms, specialist diagnosed this as Lichen Planus.

23-valent pneumococcal vaccine
I was out on my insurance companies personal website and on it they suggested a 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine because of my cancer. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it common? Have you been recommended to get it? I have an appt with a medical oncologist on Monday so I'm going to ask. But

Hi, I am looking for some advice. I have had PMR for six years . Am currently taking 7.1/2 dose of Prednisolone, plus Adcal, Amlopdipine 10 mg, and 20 mg Omeprazole. Have received a message from doctors' surgery asking me to contact them regarding a pneumococcal vaccine. In view of the amount of medication

Hi I am new to this forum but am trying to find some answers for my Husband, he does not use a computer hence me asking questions. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 8 months ago and after having his tumour removed he had BCG therapy for 6 weeks, This was followed up with a biopsy last week

E-Cig caused my illness........
I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer in December 2015. Am currently undergoing BCG treatment after two cystoscopies. The first was to remove a tumor, and the second was a checkup. The tumor had spread to the prostate but only marginally. 3 days out of hospital and my urether was blocked with blood

Common Variable Immune Deficiency
Compared to other human immune defects, CVID is a relatively frequent form of primary immunodeficiency, found in about 1 in 25,000 persons; this is the reason it is called “common.” The degree and type of deficiency of serum immunoglobulins, and the clinical course, varies from patient to patient, hence
