hi! So sorry if this is a long one… so I’ve been experiencing symptoms of b12 deficiency since 2016. It started with cuts in the corners of my mouth and then gradually more symptoms appeared such as sore tongue, breathlessness, brain fog, forgetfulness, irritability, body is a dead weight, fatigue, bladder

Clarification of blood results
Hi Could anyone give me some clarity on my anaemia test results received today. Test was done by Monitor My Health but no reference ranges included so all components just say "normal" which is very uninformative and irritating. I know from this forum results need to be optimal. Results: Haemoglobin 128g

Neurological Systems not Accepted.
In my work as a consultant I often do a "Critical Flaw Study." when a client is considering pursuing a building project. It is a study to determine what a bureaucratic or judicial board must agree to or ignore or the project will not be approved. Most consultants just dive in and wait for the critical

Can anyone figure out my MRD
Can anyone figure out what my MRD ( CLL cells per 10,000) is from this report. Component Your Value Standard Range Interpretation Flow cytometric immunophenotyping performed on the peripheral blood shows a small, dim kappa restricted B-cell population (representing ~98% of B cells, 6% of total

PMR and low White Blood Cell Count
A recent blood test (CBC) shows several low markers related to white blood cells - lymph, abs lymph, mono, and eosinophils. Also, two of the red blood cell counts were high, including MCV fL and neutrophils. I realize a slightly high or low number may not be cause for concern, but I don't know what is

Iron low
Hello, I just got back my blood work test and the iron read a little low, so I was wondering if anyone else here on the panel with pernicious anemia has had low iron. My iron binding is within range. Iron level is in range but iron percent transferring saturation is reading slightly low

blood test back - any thoughts?
So now I am off all my meds, and started taking 200mg iron a night a month ago, my ferritin level just came back as 80, which I was quite surprised. The last one in 2020 was over 120. Should I double the dose and split it through the day or take 2 tabs before bed? Also my white blood count came back

Ferrous Fumarate
I have just had blood tests done. I was found to be low in iron so the GP gave me ferrous fumarate to take for a month. I am on Levothyroxine (one day 75, next 100) I have just started taking escitalopram 10mg for the most awful anxiety and depression. But my anxiety is still really bad I’ve read ferrousfumarate

List of Neurological Symptoms
Asking for help again. Working with a friend who is navigating the UK medical system. Tests for B12 were taken prior which showed B12 deficiency and GP did not interprete the results correctly. No surprise there. More tests have been ordered after the GP was given information about B12 deficiency

Autoimmune gastritis
I came across an abstract of an article called "Autoimmune gastritis". https://www.nature.com/articles/s41572-020-0187-8 Unfortunately, the actual article is behind a paywall. But a helpful illustration from the article can be downloaded, and is available here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41572

Vits tested
I’ll ask the GP for some iron, I’ve bought a blood test online which is more thorough. Waiting for day 3 of my period as there’s lots of hormones included, just wondered if the b12 or folate are ok? Serum vitamin B12 level 311 ng/L [180 - 640] Serum ferritin level 20 ng/ml [15 - 200] Serum folate

Hyperparathyroidism
This is my first post on here. I wonder if anyone has had a blood test for Hyperparathyroidism who was taking a PPI? I am on Lansoprazole and I wondered if I should stop it before the blood test? I would be very grateful for any feedback.

Blood test for intrinsic factor. How accurate is it?
Have been well for quite a while on my eight weekly B12 injections but had been referred to a gastroenterologist for worsening IBS . He wants to find out why I have B12 deficiency and has requested I have blood test for intrinsic factor. Just wondering how accurate this is as sure I’ve had before and

We fully agree that is incumbent on all local NHS Systems to ensure that they treat their patients with pernicious anaemia effectively and in line with the most recent evidence and guidance. In common with most NHS Systems, NHS Herefordshire & Worcestershire follows national clinical guidance and
