Introducing t3 ... confused
Hi All I feel so frustrated and confused. The more I read the more confused I seem to feel. I was diagnosed hypothyroid 30 years ago and ceoliac 18 years ago. I was on 150mg for 25 years, still with symptoms. 5 years ago they reduced me to 125mgs and won't put it back up. Since symptoms have been worse

Persistent low folate results. Should I be on folic acid tablets or can I eat my way to normal range
Hi this is actually for my sis. She is coeliac and I am hashimotos thyroiditis. She will be joining this site. As I have told her how amazing it is for getting me right treatment. Basically she has had low folate results for two years or more. Tested about 3 times. She eats broccoli, sprouts etc. Not

Dr's told to stop prescribing gluten free food,
Hi folks I heard this on the news this morning and I think that we all knew that it was coming. In February I asked for a repeat prescription at my Dr's even though I should have 'reviewed' it in Sept 2016 I was told that I could review it by phone and my Dr would ring me after surgery, which they did

Help with Weight Loss
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid 18 months ago. I have gained nearly 2 1/2 stone in that time and am desperate to lose it. I'm finally feeling better in myself with current levothyroxine dose of 100mcg, but still get fatigued very quickly so trying to manage an exercise regime is nearly impossible.

Gluten helps protect people from type 2 diabetes
I found this today. From what I understand there is supposed to be a link between a gluten free diet and type 2 diabetes. Something to do with food products manufactured for coeliacs being so highly processed that they don't contain the vital ingredients needed to prevent type 2 diabetes. Is this true

Second autoimmune diease?
Hi I was feeling OK recently then had an awful infection of cellulitis at the top of my leg. It's taking ages to go away and am on my third round of antibiotics. This flagged up my borderline glucose results and now I'm being tested for type 2 diabetes. I had worried as there was a recent study linking

Getting closer to being well
Good morning. Since Decemeber when i had my first tests on armour a lot has happened. I felt wonderful and then started having slight hyper symptoms about 6 wks in. T4/T3 levels good but .04 TSH after 8 wks. I didn't notice until after the fact of the ENDO pulling me off Armour 1 grain (60 mg),

L-Glutamine and Hashimoto
Hello everyone, I have recently came across a story of my friend's friend who had completely got off medications he was taking for Hashimoto. He put himself on a gluten free diet, L-Glutamine and some other supplements. He says that the main ingredient that helped him was L-Glutamine. Could you please

GP appt to discuss blood test results
Well after several weeks & various blood tests I had appt with Gp. She confirmed my high Thyroid Periodxase antibodies which she informed me I showed positive for in 2014 but was never told about. When I said this obviously confirms I have hashimotos she said not necessarily there are many forms of thyroid

Curing Hashimos
I just spent the afternoon listing to a pharmacist who had hashimotos, and cured herself. Her name is Izabella Wentz. She had a 9 day seminar and of course she has written a book. You might want to Google her. She went on gluten free diet, and also stopped dairy, which she claimed ended her thyroid

Gluten-free diet and diabetes link?
Here's an article from the Telegraph about a study suggesting a link between gluten-free diets and diabetes: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2017/03/09/gluten-free-diet-boosts-diabetes-risk-major-study-suggests/ And another article refuting this claim: http://www.popsci.com/how-healthy-is-gluten-free

As my symptoms are slowly creeping back in again after a short period of feeling better I had some test done again. My endo still thinks I am taking too much Throxine as the TSH is still suppressed so I won't get any help from her. I feel I should maybe take moreT3 to stop my FT3 going down even further

Goitrogens versus gluten free versus diet for boosting immune system...
I've become addicted to this site. Even casual perusing of the daily blog gives me new insights. Feeling much better having gone gluten free for four weeks and now adding a wee bit of T3 based on some recent blood tests. However, I don't seem to get more than two consecutive days feeling really good

Scared to eat
I'm undiagnosed posible ibd, dr's are slow and difficult but I am pushing for a colonscopy to find out once and for all what's going on. I'm in pain constantly. I am on a gluten free diet and it helped to start with. But now I'm in pain no matter what I eat. Even a cup of coffee or water is painful for

Should I take Selenium?
Hello, I have Hashimoto's and I am slowly weaning myself towards a gluten free diet. Can anybody advise if I should also take Selenium? I have heard it can help decrease my antibodies? Thank you.
