Metaplasia
Hi, does anyone know if there are 2 types of Metaplasia. I have read somewhere can't remember where that there are. One is complete the 2nd incomplete and it said the findings at Gastroscopy should be recorded. I asked the Gastro consultant and he was not aware of it.

Missing Benepali this wee
Following a gastroscopy a few weeks ago I ended up with a cold, then a sore throat, followed by a flare up of my Sjögren’d’s. I had a 2 hour emergency appointment with an Opthalmologist who scanned my eyes and was brilliant. She gave me different eye drops and is changing the lenses in my glasses.) Now

Sharing here because I can't share open in "real life" and need a bit of an outlet. Also hoping that maybe this will help someone else. One year ago today, I came home from an evening out to discover my husband bent double with excruciating pain. At that time he had drunk heavily most nights for 20 years

varices
I would like to thank all the people who replied the variety of experiences made me do more research and I found that Carvedilol and omeprazole are just as effective as banding, however I will ask for a further Gastroscopy in a year or two. As I’ve had a serious bleed before probably over reacted. Once

varices grade 2
My consultant physician did a surveillance Gastroscopy which showed 2 varices grade 2, as I was taking Carvedilol twice daily he has decided no further action is required. Having had a burst varice in the past which put me in hospital for a week. I am confused to why he’s decided not to band them surely

Awful chronic nausea
I have had PMR for over 11years and still on 11mgs. I have never been pain free. This morning I had a gastroscopy because I have been suffering worsening nausea over the last 18 months or so. At first I didn’t realise it was all connected because it came and went. Now it is daily and has been making

B12 or something else?
Hi About 2-3 years ago, during lockdown when it was difficult/impossible to see a GP, I started taking B12 supplements 3-4 times weekly. Whilst not wanting to diagnose myself, I felt I had little choice given the GP situation, plus my daughters are B12 deficient, and had the same symptoms as myself

Omeprazole and Acid Reflux after Gastroscopy
I have been having digestive issues since May, lots of indigestion, acid reflux, belching etc. It comes and goes, sometimes good, sometime not, I would say I feel unwell 50% of the time. I was referred to a gastroenterologist. I had a colonoscopy last year and all was clear. Gastro decided that I

Diagnosis at last! Haemochromotosis?
I've posted a few times on this forum but a bit of backstory - hubby, 43 had sudden onset of upper right quadrant pain last December, has some tests for gallstones, found nothing, immediately stopped drinking (had drunk heavily for around 15 years), and after a lot of back and forward was found to have
