Carvedilol
Hi, I've had my second (annual) gastroscopy since my Cirrhosis was diagnosed last year in February. The results were pretty much as the first one, so no change. The doctor who performed this test, different to the first one, suggested that my GP put me on Carvedilol. GP prescribed it and I have now

Cirrhosis and Fibrosis
Hey All, I’m 39 years old. Significant drinking history. Binge drinking (15+units) for approx 20 years at least one and sometimes 2 nights of a weekend. My drinking escalated in 2012 and I would have 6 units nightly with the binging. I am reasonably fit and have maintained exercise throughout last 10

Rheumatoid and throat -update
GP referred me for Gastroscopy which I had yesterday. Relieved there was no sign of any tumours or Barrett’s Oesophagus but inflammation seen in upper stomach. Consultant suggested asking GP to switch me from Omeprazole to a different PPI and not Lansoprazole. Interesting - must do some research! Still

Reflux and persistent dry cough
Hi I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 42 years, during that time I have had lots of different medications. For years now I have suffered from reflux, at one time I had an hiatus hernia which has gone. Despite being careful with my diet, avoiding things that set it off and eating small meals, I am coughing

Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy for CKD patients
In December my stomach had a reaction to antibiotics. Generally, I feel better, but doctors thought it might be a good idea to have screening tests due to my age, 56. My mother died at the age of 57 due to ulcerative colitis becoming cancer, and so that is another reason. Normally my GFR is around
