New Member - Query re. B12 Injections Stopping B12 Getting To Cells Unless Serum B12 High
Hello, I'd be grateful if someone could help me with this query. I read in a recent post that B12 shots could cause problems with B12 getting into cells unless serum levels were very high. Is this due to sensitisation of the cells because of the huge level of B12 in the bloodstream for some time following

Still looking for answers and a diagnosis after 3 years - losing heart. Any ideas ?
Foolishly perhaps, I had pinned all my hopes on 2nd visit to Gastroenterologist yesterday. Not sure where to go or what to do now : I do NOT have Coeliac disease - although I cannot find another reason for flattened mucosa in duodenum found during gastroscopy, blood tests have ruled it out now. All

Waiting for results and very anxious
I was diagnosed with a small area of Barrett’s oesophagus at the base of my gullet about 4 years ago. Two days ago I underwent my second surveillance gastroscopy and knew by the amount of time they took doing the procedure that something wasn’t right. They took a great many biopsies and when it was all

Nausea and vomiting stopped by one B12 injection an indication of undiagnosed PA?
Hi guys Newbie here! :-) Apologies for the long post - I don't know who else to ask! I have been diagnosed with iron-deficiency anaemia on and off all my life, from toddler age onwards. I don't know that my B12 levels were ever tested. I read about B12 a few years ago and started supplementing randomly

Hi. My name is Dena. I have PBC.
I took this photo this morning after breakfast of my skin on my arms and hands. I also have these bruised and torn skin areas on my face, neck, and chest. I've mentioned before about having extreme itching and this is what I get when I scratch. I try to keep my fingernails cut short so I don't rip or

GGT, ALT, ALP, BCAA and Glycine, coeliac disease and/or SIBO : anyone able to help with results ?
So far, in the past 3 years, I have had a diagnosis of firstly
B12 deficiency
then
functional B12 deficiency
because my MMA was raised. This diagnosis, from GP, was confirmed by the laboratory. Later disputed by haematologists. Then Lactulose breath test result suggested MMA raised

Bellybutton hernia post total gastrectomy
I am a lady of 63 years old. I had a total gastrectomy in July 2017 due to adenocarcinoma of stomach, diagnosed Stage 2B cancer due to pervasiveness in one of the 14 nodes removed. I also had 6 sessions of EOX Chemo and struggled with multiple side effects until December last. I had a pet scan in Jan

Blood in mouth
Hi, hubby is 18 months post total gastrectomy and 12 months post ECX chemo after the operation. In the last few weeks/months he has ocassionally woken to find a small quantity of blood on his pillow or shirt if he has fallen asleep in the chair. Unfortunately I haven’t been there when this has happened

Newbie: Feeling a bit lost & adrift
Hi, After a couple of illnesses recently I had some blood tests that came back with 'strange results' my liver function was OK. My GP asked a blood specialist at the hospital for a second opinion that involved another blood test and an Ultra-sound. The upshot was, I was diagnosed with enlarged spleen

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy, it says talk to doc if you have thyroid disease!!! Advice please!
I am having gastroscopy and colonoscopy on Tuesday. Reading notes for the preparation it says talk to doc or pharmacist if you have any of following, one being thyroid disease. I have had them before but not together and for me it is very painful. This time I will not be eating for nearly 30 hours, I

I have a Bowel problem, but cannot put a name to it ?
Around ten months ago my digestive stopped working the way it always had. I had awful gas and bloating and my weight went down to 7 stone from 11 stone, went to my doc and he put it down to IBS. The previous year I had a Colonoscopy and a Gastroscopy and was found to have a Pepic ulcer and was put on

Confused about Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy results
Had gastroscopy and colonoscopy yesterday. Gastroscopy revealed "..flattened mucosal pattern in D1 and D2: Coeliac ??" - and now waiting for results from samples taken to be tested. Colonoscopy revealed nothing more than internal haemarrhoids, although have had diarrhoea for 3 years. So

Gastro appointment, another disappointment
Hello, I have had the Gastroscopy today and in the report I was diagnosed with gastritis in fact is says "antrum gastritis with no bleading" The gastrologist said that I have it for a long time and that with gastritis I have bile reflux as well. He referred me back to my GP to prescribed some probiotics

Gastroscopy question
What is the smallest amount of time I can eat gluten before gastroscopy? my letter says 8 weeks of gluten in every meal however I won't be able to do that without destroying myself and leaving myself unable to work. would 2 weeks have any affect or does it have to be this long? Also how much gluten

So upset
I was diagnosed in April 2017 with stage iv stomach cancer at the junction of Oesophagus. The cancer had spread to the peritoneum and I was offered palliative EOX chemo. I responded very well to the chemotherapy and was subsequently offered surgery (total gastrectomy, part removal of oesophagus and removal
