Following my gastroscopy this is on the report: THE GASTRIC MAPPING SHOW MODERATE CHRONIC INFLAMMATION. THERE IS MULTIFOCAL INTESTINAL METAPLASIA THROUGHOUT THESE BIOPSIES. THERE IS ALSO SEVERE GLANDULAR ATROPHY WITH NEUROENDOCRINE HYPERPLASIA. NO MUCOSAL ULCERATION OR ACTIVE INFAMMATION SEEN. NO HYPLORI IDENTIFIED. NEITHER DYSPLASIA OR NOEPLASIA IS SEEN. THE APPEARANCE ARE CONSISTENT WITH CHRONIC ATROPHIC GASTRITIS.
The biopsies were taken from Antrum, Body, Angulus, Fundus.
Diagnosis : Pan-gastritis and Intestinal metaplasia with glandular atrophy.
As I had never heard of PAN-GASTRITIS I checked it out and it means all of the stomach lining reccomended diet no citrus. I have having lime juice before meals because of the reduced stomach acid associated with chronic atrophy and reduced acid, now I don't know what to do HELP please

I am not a doctor but you can use a medical dictionary to translate the report.
1) So, moderate chronic inflammation is obvious.
2) Various sites have tissue replacement.
3) There is partial or complete (I do not know which) wasting in the glands.
4) No ulcers.
5) No H.pylori.
6) The appearance are consistent with Chronic Atrophic Gastritis.
Follow up appointment or better still have an appointment with a Dietician whose anatomy, physiology of the gastrointestinal tract is superb. They can safely advise on you as an individual. They will draw up a Plan of Care. They also can advise on your diet, supplements and management. They can liaise with your GP and gastroenterologist.
Thank you Narwhal10, I am going to see a dietician as soon as . I have had follow up and he says surveillance guide lines every 3 years but he says I can go back to him next year if worried , as I am worried will be going Nov next year . Trying not to feel anxious.
Of course, you are allowed to be anxious. So if you need to have a complete meltdown then do. It is perfectly acceptable to do that. Then in your own time you may slowly understand, I will learn to live with this. The dietician can help with the practical side of it.
