Because of severe abdo pain for the last few weeks it was brought forward as urgent and I had it this morning. I have had several of these before, all bar the first one with sedation. However today they were

HIPEC
Has anyone here had, or knows of someone, that has had HIPEC for metastasised stomach cancer? My husband has one metastatic tumour 4 yrs after his gastrectomy. It is in an awkward position and 6 months of standard chemo has had little effect and they’ve had to lower the dose of radiotherapy for fear

Autoimmune stomach problems & PPI's
Hi all, just had a gastroscopy which showed inflammation of the stomach lining & small bowel. Have been given omeprazole PPI 20mg but I'm worried about implications of taking this e.g. malabsorption of vitamins & Levothyroxine. Doc didn't say if inflammation was autoimmune related but I've heard antibodies

I have lupus and many (if not all) symptoms of hypothroidism. Last week I had my first appt with endocrinology (a telephone appt given Covid) and during the conversation the endocrinologist advised that my thyroid blood levels were within the normal range, which indicates that I do not warrant treatment

Vitamin B12 relationship with PD?
New data from South Korean indicates gastric cancer patients who underwent gastrectomy & received uninterrupted VitB12 supplementation had a decreased incidence of Parkinsons (0.86; 95% CI 0.75–0.98); significance lost after adjusting for smoking & BMI https://www.prd-journal.com/article/S1353-8020

Are there any connections?
Hi there, I was referred to a gastroenterologist and a gynaecologist a few weeks ago due to a blood test result of 3.5 hemoglobin level, I am a bit annoyed with my GP as I’ve been getting results of low iron deficiency for years and told just to eat more leafy greens. The gastroenterologist gestured

Further update on Lynne (Oldham)
Lynne is back home after her Gastroscopy this morning, the outcome is that she's got a lot of inflammation in her stomach and pyloric mucosa?? I've looked this up and I'm really none the wiser. She had biopsies and has now got to wait to see a consultant. She has asked me to thank you all for your thoughts
