Vitamin B12 relationship with PD?

New data from South Korean indicates gastric cancer patients who underwent gastrectomy & received uninterrupted VitB12 supplementation had a decreased incidence of Parkinsons (0.86; 95% CI 0.75–0.98); significance lost after adjusting for smoking & BMI

B12 deficiency can cause all manner of devastating neurological problems. It may be that supplementation reduces actual Parkinson's instances or that that it merely reduces neurological problems misdiagnosed as Parkinson's.

This is really interesting to me. If I could only take one supplement, it would be my B multivitamin, which has very high doses of B12. The very first time I took it, I felt like a new man.

Jim what was the amount of B12 that you took, my Md had my blood levels checked and , though it being 'in the range but less than 25%' he

Rx me B12 @ 1200 mcg. daily. I did note that I had more energy while swimming.

1000 mcg, usually twice a day so 2,000 mcg daily, although lately I have just been taking 1,000 mcg daily.
