Heart bypass and valve replacement
I was in hospital yesterday for an angiogram. Last year during a routine ECG pre cataract surgery, it was evident that I had suffered a "silent" heart attack. An echocardiogram revealed a problem with my mitral valve. Further tests now indicate that damage to my mitral valve is not mild to moderate as

Thyroid plus testing
Hi I have had a full set of bloods done all within normal range! Including thyroid antibodies, ferritin, iron, vit d etc ... but no sign of t3/4 as expected! I've been to see another endo consultant who basically told me that the 2.5 stone I've put on is tough and that it's just me! I'm starting to

What else can I do?
I'm going to therapy (she is a LMFT), I went to a general doctor on Friday and he prescribed me Lexapro liquid form (
gastric
bypass
patient) 10mg for the first week then 20mg after. How long does it take to see if it helps? A couple of weeks?

Golden Years?
My wife and I had to retire earlier than expected due to medical issues which prevented us from performing our jobs, but would not hamper our enjoying the "Golden" Years", or so we thought. Shortly after retiring my beloved wife was diagnosed with stage 4 colo-rectal cancer and underwent aggressive chemo

3lb to go until I reach the 7stone lost
3lb off losing 7stone, best thing is bumping into people that I hadn't seen for a while and them not recognizing me, I'm always asked "what's your secret" people find it hard to believe that I've not had a gastric band, the only trick I have is to stay strong and motivated xx

Is ablation right for me ?
My EP is wants to do the ablation, but my cardiologist is pushing me to get a
gastric
bypass
instead. That won't stop the AFIB , and I can't do two procedures at once! For now, the meds are keeping my heart rate under 100 MOST of the time, but my heart is constantly in AFIB (persistent).

Carbs and sugars
In a quest to be the right weight for a 5ft 2 stature, whereby I can plot my 57 years in dress sizes, have tried most diets and got perilously close to having a gastric band, any tip s for replacing carbs and sugars in my diet, a self confessed carb sugar and chocoholic.

Coming Off Statins - Update 2017-02-21
I weaned off of a 30 mg dosage of Crestor between February and October of 2016. My last dose of Crestor was 5 mg in mid-October, 2016. I just had my blood test yesterday. I do a blood test every 6 weeks to monitor my lipid values and see the impact of adjusting vitamin supplementation and dietary changes

MYOCARDIAL INACTIVATION OF THYROID HORMONES IN PATIENTS WITH AORTIC STENOSIS

Change of Meds after Gastric Bypass
Just changed from 2x 150mg Pradaxa to 2x 5mg Apixaban after a successful
gastric
bypass
last Friday. The apiaban should react better. Anyone else changed from/to these meds?
