I agree it's mostly in the head .... I have come to realise that to be sustainable it needs to be a lifestyle change rather than a 'diet'. Re-educating myself about portion sizes and healthy choices has been a real eye opener for me!

I think the NHS 12 week weight loss plan and MyFitnessPal for calorie counting are a really good place to start!

You can do this! Onwards and downwards as they say!! 🌻

Hi and welcome, Woome :)

I think we all like the idea of someone else putting in the effort and us losing the weight, but that's how we get trapped in a vicious cycle of yoyo dieting. Until we realise we have to change our eating habits for life and take responsibiity for them, we're never going to move forwards. It took me 40 years to realise that!

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you :)

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news :)

Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate :)

We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too :)

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey :)

Don't waste your money, Woome. Download the NHS 12week plan and get started on a new weight loss, new way of life, with all of us here to support you!

Organic lol

Have you seen the prices of those ?

I don't think you bashing me is very nice

Your opinion is just that

It's better than eating burgers sausages and fried foods

I don't drink I don't smoke and I exercise

The foods on DC are not unhealthy

So do you drink or smoke and your here because you r never eaten any junk food ?

See your very heavy you can't judge me

You didn't get to be nearly 200 lbs eating those foods

This is a calorie counting site doctors recommend DC

Stop trying to sound all healthy and like you know how healthy eating works

At least I'm honest and said I yoyo

Actually I've chronic ibs d and can't eat lots vegetables fruit and nuts are a non no but then you just presume we can all afford to and can eat what you say

Sadly life's not that a easy we some of us are blessed with digestive orders

And at the age of 47 I've done all plans yes a yoyoer meaning you probably know a lot less than me as I've lost lots weight many times

Go preach to someone that cares your not a good role model for anyone in here

Now if you were 135 lbs and never got fat then you could maybe give me some kind

suggestions but no instead your taking out your weight frustrations on me

So tell some one that thinks you know what your talking about

Don't worry I'm leaving this site the admin are shocking overweight people who are fat themselves lecturing people who know don't like being talked down too

Bye

I'm sorry you feel that way Woome

Please remember that this is a friendly site whose focus is positivity and support.

I think everyone on here said something supportive, Woome (and did anyone mention organic??) Nobody is judging you. If you read the posts you will see we all have issues around weight. None of us is an expert or is trying to be a role model. We all try and encourage each other, commiserate when things go wrong, celebrate when they are going well. I wish you luck on your weight loss journey.
