WK 5 R3 and it’s been emotional
This last run was something I never thought I’d get to again, to cut a long story short I’ve had 11 cardiac stents, a number of heart attacks including arrests and a quad CABG. I was first diagnosed in my late 30 and my career was over in an instant. It’s been a long trial over many years but at last

Post CABG and airport scanners
I have titanium staples and a titanium plate in my chest where the surgeon pulled my sternum back together. Do these set-off airport security scanners? If they do, how do you explain this to the security officers?

Help needed please long post sorry
Hi I posted recently about Mam having lung cancer. She's in a care home now and has deteriorated to the point that doctors Don't think she'll make her birthday on the 18-12-2017 when she'll be 88. The cancer hasn't grown .but they have decided not to give her a heart bypass now. And these last few days

5 month update... still a mixed bag! Cholesterol??
Hi All... well I'm still here which is a good thing! Things have continued to be very up and down unfortunately and the emotional effects really started to kick in a month or so back when the realisation of what happened, what could have happened, what might happen all started to overwhelm me a little

Time flies when you're having fun
January 10th 2017 I had a
gastric
bypass
. since then I've lost 12 dress sizes. Moved from Northampton to Cumbria and sold my mobility scooter. I walk for miles with my dogs every day, run around with my grandkids and I'm living my life instead of just existing.

Hi I'm new to this group
I have since then had
gastric
bypass
surgery to help me lose weight and hopefully help with my Nash. Since having the surgery in April I have lost 70 pounds. Unfortunately I am having some post operative complications that hopefully can be taken care of with medication.

Vegetarianism- does it actually prevent relapse ?
I would ask people who had CABG or angioplasty long back, whether they followed veg diet or otherwise and did they find any difference ? Should I stop fish and lean meat altogether to prevent relapse of the heart disease(MI)?

RV Systolic dysfunction and Oxygen
My cardiologist sent me to a pulmonary specialist. I saw him yesterday, and when he heard that I take periodic breaks when walking we walked down the hall while he measured my blood oxygen. It turns out I need oxygen for exertion. Now I do testing to find out why. He is arranging for home oxygen.

Clicking sensation in Sternum post CABG
Hi All, I'm just over 4 weeks post triple bypass op. The recoverys going well. I'm walking 50 mins per day and the scars are healing nicely. I feel a kind of clicking sensation around the sternum area when I'm generally moving around (no accompanying pain though). Just wondered if anyone else has experienced

After a terrible attempt the other day at trying to do w9r3 I actually did it today. I feel so good, I had a heart attack in April followed by a double heart bypass op. Now to think after a lot of self believe, the NHS's brilliant involvement and doing couch25k i have finally been able to jog/run for

Coming Off Statins - Update - October 17, 2017 blood work
It has now been a full year since I not only stopped my statin medication (Crestor 30 mg/day) but all cardiac medicines completely. The process of weaning took 10 months from January of 2016 to October of 2016. My bypass surgery was March of 2015. During the weaning period, I exercised daily and converted

Just out of Interest.
Just out of Interest. I am Christian and I pray every day. Jaunuary 2016 I had a heart bypass and aortic valve replacement. Whilst doing the operation the surgeon did a mini maze to try to stop my afib. Not that I knew that I had afib. Long story short, when I came home I had permanent afib. They
