How do I cure ongoing chest infections?
Hi there, I have had asthma since I was three years old and my biggest problem is chest infections. These happen in winter mainly, seasonally, and I'd say on a bad year I can have up to 5 or 6 chest infections/upper respiratory infections a year, though these have worsened in recent years. It normally

Pneumonia- post hospital
My sister was discharged from hospital after spending 8 days in with pneumonia she had been in for 5 days previous then discharged for 5 then back in. She was doing great in hospital with no coughing, clear chest and not bringing up anything (she also had fluid on lungs treated due to lung cancer) but

CT Scan result time?
Hi All, My mum is having a CT scan today to find out what is causing her change in cough for the last 4-5 months. She's a smoker. Giving up in the new year thank god. Her chest x-ray was clear, and so terrified there find something sinister on the CT scan :( How long is the wait for the results roughly

Test Results Waiting time?
Hi Everyone, I'm just wondering how long I should expect to wait to get back results for blood tests and a chest X-ray? I know that some tests take longer than others so I've listed below which ones I've had recently. - Anti-nuclear Factor - Anti-CCP Antibody Level - DNA binding auto-antibodies - Extractable

My husband has emphysema and doesn't cough or seem to have much mucus. Does massaging the back help break it up?
My husband has had a flare since October. He has almost no coughing and never has coughed up mucus. He has emphysema . He's been on steroids almost nonstop since this started. And antibiotics off and on. We thought he was a getting a little better. But his oxygen level last night was 69 when he got into

What to expect?
Hi all, My mum has had a cough for 4-5 months, sometimes productive, sometimes not. Normally the colour is white, but it is occasionally green. She had a chest x-ray and this has come back clear, she also had spirometerty test, which come back ok, not amazing. She got 66% and the 'OK' is 70% apparently

New here with asthma symptoms/allergic asthma?
For the past two years I have suffered with feelings of a tight chest like a pressure feeling feels constricted. I also get feeling of what I call air hunger a feeling like I'm not breathing properly. I can feel out of breath sometimes pushing toddler in buggy or reading stories to my children. These

Asthma attack 😔
I have ended up in A&E twice this week. Once on Monday when I walked in as the Ventolin was not lasting the 4 hours that it should. The doctor then gave me a course of steroids for 4 days. However, I also ended up back in A&E on Tuesday, this time by ambulance. They gave me a nebuliser and oxygen on

Any ideas?
My grandad has been in severe pain for weeks -mainly in shoulder and knee. It's getting increasingly worse and he's finding it hard to sleep. He's on very strong painkillers. He's had blood tests and a chest x ray which were clear but the Mri was inconclusive so he's just had a CT scan. I'm really

UCTD/Lupus/Antiphospholipid Antibodies
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've been having symptoms for the best part of two years, it initially started off as memory loss, fatigue, numbness and tingling in hands/feet and legs and then I began to develop more and more symptoms. Initially I was told it was all due to a Vitamin B12 deficiency

Could It still be cancer?
Hi Everyone, I'm 51 & a smoker. I've had a cough roughly for 5 months, I'm a smoker, I would normally cough in the morning, then a slight few throughout the day. I started coughing more in the day/evening in the last five months. I've recently had a chest x-ray, which came back completely clear

Just heard an idea as to a cause of my symptoms, but need some insight
My physiotherapist suggested the reason only Ventolin relieves my breathing and tightness is because I breath wrong with my mouth. She thinks because I have a dodgy breathing pattern I get the air trapping and hyperinflation we saw on the chest x-ray and lung function tests leading to chest muscle tension

pneumonia
Hi All I have been diagnosed with pneumonia and I was wondering if there could be a link between it and TBI ? can fatigue etc bring this on ? I had a chest X Ray but was told my lungs were clear at the same I was told by my GP that my right lung was still congested so there seems to be a contradiction

Is atelectasis a common problem with people who have bronchiectasis and have primary ciliary dyskinesia?
I was told by my doctor that I had atelectasis which was observed on a chest x-ray located in the area where I had past pneumonia when I was pregnant with my daughter. I don't know what this means to my health or the treatment for atelectasis or if atelectasis is a permeant thing for me now. I will

Same pains, different day! Need help.
I'm now on week 4 of intermittent chest, left arm and jaw pain. I've had 2 EKGs in the last 3 weeks and both were "perfect" a chest x-ray and my blood pressure is good. Does anyone else have any experience with these symptoms! I really don't know how much more I can take.
