Spinal Cord Stimulator
Hi Folks, My PM doc seems to be nearly at the end if the road with me - I've been a chronic pain patient for nearly 40 years now - I'm 60 this month. He's listed me for one more procedure but after that the only option is for referral on for assessment for a SPS. He is not very optimistic about this

Pressure Stocings
I first contracted cellulitus way back in 2001 which was my last visit to stay with friends in Malawi who I used to visit every year in December/ January time. It was then that my left leg was infected resulting in cellulitus which eventually developed in to Lymphodoema in both legs. Unfortunately there

I got a cold and lap on Tuesday
Hi I got a cold after coming back from pre-assessment on last Tuesday (12/8) and I am booked my lap next Tuesday (19/8). My cold is not so bad, no temperature not much coughing or sore throat. Just occasional blocked nose and tiredness. At the beginning I thought my hay fever got worse but by Wednesday

Really confused now
Have been told I am low on Vitamin D when I have a good diet, am out all the time and take 1000mg cod liver oil daily. Could this be due to under medicated thyroid.

Things that have helped and Things that haven't
Hello All, I hope that the following list, from my own long journey, may help someone. What didn't help: Wishing it would go away and other avoidant behaviours Pushing myself too hard and not pushing myself enough - its a double edged sword Unkind people - you learn who your true friends are Insensitive

W2 R3 complete, at long last my knees did not feel like they were with me the whole time. I was a little anxious about running today, as for some unknown reason I have had a touch of vertigo yesterday and today. I have found it hard to balance due to feeling dizzy. I did start taking vitamin D and cod

Dental work and AF
Has anyone had experience of AF getting worse after root fillings or being told after AF started that they need a lot of dental work? Just attended a talk 'Cure Tooth Decay' by Ramiel Nagel who has written a book with the same title. It's back to granny's diet e.g. Cod Liver Oil (not any but the Green

Cimzia/methotrexate/hydroxy = coldsores and mouth sores
I am quite used to my mouth shedding skin and having an occasional sore inside my mouth but since starting Cimzia a few months ago, am getting a recurring coldsore and more mouth sores than before (on the positive side, my joints feel much better, as do my energy levels). I am due to see rheumatology

Spirometry result
I had my spirometry test on Tuesday and it has come back as normal, I think it's FEV 77 and FVC 79 from what I can see. My lung age is 64, I'm 51, so that's not too good. So apparently I don't yet have COPD, but at high risk of developing it, so def need to stop smoking. The nurse gave me some champix

Mental health or thyroid issues?
Hi all - apologies for the length but I hope you can help. I was diagnosed in August 2013 with an underactive thyroid following the birth of my son. I had put on 4 stone in my pregnancy that I just couldn't shift no matter what I did and was incredibly anxious/down and lethargic with a lot of head fuzz

SEVERE COPD
Hi I've just been diagnosed with severe copd. I am 44. I was a smoker but I'm on nicotine replacement now. I also work as a fragrance consultant. I was shocked to be told I had it as I always thought it affected older people .

Itching ........!!
I have Lupus SLE and i suffer with itching and it really only used to affect my arms and sometimes my legs. I have to wash with Aqueous Cream, then I apply Balneum Cream as a moisturiser then I have to apply Betnovate Cream which is a steroid cream, and i also rely on Antihistamines. But this week

I'm not sure this healthy life is all its cracked up to be!!
Since being diagnosed with Hashimotos I have become a health nut. Quite apart from giving up gluten (and reducing my TPO antibodies) I have now stopped all dairy to try and help my RA. I am juicing raw veg and eating more fruit than I ever have in my life. I take a plethora of supplements plus cod

FECK........FECK, FECK, FECK....
Well, after years of no real problems, they are back!! The knackerd knees are starting to be troublesome once more. Maybe it's my advanced years (50), or my weight (12-and-a bit stone), or, more likely, it's years of tripple-jump training whilst I was at school. But, whatever it was, they are hurting

Giving up caffeine and chocolate
I have just been advised that caffeine and chocolate do not suit panic attacks and I assume copd. Has anyone else been made aware of this?
