COPD - Feeling cold
Hi everyone. My partner has been diagnosed with stage 3 COPD. We do not have good support from our GP so are learning as we go along. The last few days Peter has been extremely cold. There is no reason for this , weather is warm and warm inside house. Is this a symptom of COPD and if so why? I value

Back from vacation
Well, my family and I just returned from a week of camping. It was nice. Had follow up with Dr. He said if I have COPD, it's probably mild, but he's thinking maybe some type of asthmatic component. Breathing still sucks... can't breath deep, only shallow. Changed my med again, now on Dulera twice

Mollaret’s meningitis reloaded, and ‘how to change your life, and still have one’: Feedback and additional advice sought
Hi Guys, I had planned to make this post about 6 months after my last bout of VM, but things moved in some odd directions for a while, with a bit of a relapse for good measure. However, it’s now a good time to share back some updates for anyone interested/bored of the tennis. Thanks again to all the

Radiotherapy Roulette
Right enough of this holiday malarkey and back to the business in hand. At my last visit to my oncologist she advised me that I should have 3 or 4 rounds of radiotherapy. When I met with the radiotherapist she said that I would get 13 to 15 rounds of palliative treatment to alleviate symptoms. These

Legs weakness
Good morning to every one. I would like to ask if having emphysema has any thing to do with legs weakness. I have nearly gone over a few time, but this morning they gave up on me. I went like a bag of spuds. I also get red hot feet and ice cold feet, I had my spine fixed in 2000. So I thought me legs

Joint pain on Quitiapine
Hi, Has anybody experienced the side effect of joint / bone pain and muscle weakness on Quitiapine? I've been on this for 4.5 months and am on 400mg (from 600mg) and this has escalated for me (despite my dose reducing) to the point that I'm considering coming off/ switching meds. From a mental health

Injury on the knees
While rushing on a busy crossing in the city I fell down on the tarsealed street. The skin on both my knees ripped tearing through my stockings and bones were exposed. I applied antiseptic cream and plaster but the next day I am unable to bend my knees and very painful walking. Thick blood oozes out

Full blood results raised TSH several highlighted results high b12. Have a look and see what you think?
Hello Full blood results for all you clever people. TSH is raised and antibodies are low. I suspect I've been a bit thyroid odd for a long time but just got on with it and not found it too bad. My mum is also borderline underactive but again, copes with it. I started in March with sudden hair loss,

Vitamin A debate 😊
Hi everyone Looking in my local pharmacy, I didn't see vitamin A. I'm wondering how many of you are taking it. Also how much are you taking? Do you have to order it? I Know your not supposed to take over 10,000 safety. I was thinking cod liver oil. Anyone use that? Do you feel it's helping you

First appointment at St Thomas'
Well folks, the day has arrived, I'm off to see the Pain Service at St Thomas' this afternoon for assessment. They will be assessing whether I am a candidate for Spinal Cord Stimulation ( SCS) and I'm at that jangly and overwhelmed place of really not wanting to go, not having the stomach for yet more

Can you get better from COPD
I was diagnosed with COPD 8 years ago. The doctor said it was mild at that time. I immediately gave up smoking, but have been on nicotine chewing gum ever since., now find it impossible to stop. My question is can your lungs get better or do they deteriorate over years. The Dr said I have 80 percent

Noisy painful joints
Hi all. So happy to find this forum it's wonderful! I'm at the start of my thyroid journey, think it's going to be a long road ahead.... I've started taking a few supplements to help with certain symptoms, iron for anemia and b12 but the thing I'm not sure is for my joints. They are awfully noisy
