What have you been told about anti biotics and MTX?
Morning guys More stress. I've got another of those little bits of infected finger by the nail - it's not going away despite gallons of salt water iodine and fucidin. only got over the last bout a few weeks ago!! Last time the rheum nurse told me to skip my MTX door a week while I took the fkucloxacillin

Pleased with myself then .....
I've been under the care of a really good pain consultant for nearly a year now. One of the things he explained to me is how too much medication can in fact amplify your pain instead of stopping it. So I stopped my oramorph and have been steadily decreasing my dose of MST (morphine sulphate tablets)

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC)
This page goes into how NAC can be a game-changer for those with COPD. http://www.lifeextension.com/Magazine/2010/5/N-Acetyl-Cysteine/Page-02 I just started it myself and I feel it is making a difference. Hoping to see still more improvement as I continue. I take it along with vitamin C and MSM. All

A bit worried.
Good evening everybody, patricia7 here, I just wanted to let you all know what has been going on. I filled out a form for ESA at the same time I had to fill in a new claim for PIP, sent that off on Monday; a bit worried about that, they say it can take 16 weeks to make a decision. I have had a bad

Asthma BETTER with common cold?!
I thought colds and flus were meant to make asthma worse, but I feel really good these last few days if you don't count the usual cold misery. Why has my asthma eased up with something known to worsen it? :o Or will my asthma only flare up AFTER the cold passes? EDIT: I never usually cough with asthma

Epaderm cream
Hi, I have discoid eczema according to the dermatologist I have just seen. I am awaiting tests to see what I allergic to. I have suffered with my hands for years and have been using steroid cream for years. Last year I had a bad outbreak which affected my face. This year it has affected the rest of my

Emollients - Epimax instead of Diprobase
I asked my GP for some more Diprobase, but was refused as my NHS area's formulary no longer lists it. I remembered a nurse using Fifty:50 so asked for that, and it was allowed. The formulary now lists Epimax as the first choice alternative to Aproderm, Aqueous cream, Aquamax, Diprobase cream, E45 cream

Vibrating feet
Sounds strange doesn't it? But I have googled as I don't understand why it's happening, but today they haven't stopped with the intermittent vibrating. I have no pain but it's annoying. I've read that it could be a vit b12 deficiency or I need to have a break from my vitamins that I'm already taking

Anyone know if there is a link to increased cold sores?
Hi all, I have been deficient for some time in vit D, Folic acid and B12. I had my loading doses and was also put on a mini pill to help regulate hormone levels. Before I started the pill, I had increased outbreaks of coldsores in my nose, under my nose, lips etc (disgusting) this then decreased when

Back Spasms
Has anyone experienced continuous back spasms? No meds have helped to date. The next step is to try a spinal cord stimulator. Any one used this device and their experience?

Starting Montelukast tonight
Collected my prescription from the pharmacy ,the pharmacist asked if I'd taken it before and I said no ,so he said take it an hour before bed ,any signs of allergic reaction to stop it immediately and phone the GP ,,,,,other than that he will ring me after seven days to see how I'm getting on with it

Spinal cord stimulator
So I've been diagnosed with CRPS for the last year. This month I finally met with a consultant who wanted to get right now to treatment. I'd already tried most other treatments and was referred to a consultant at St Thomas London for a spinal cord stimulator. Despite many doctors being concerned that
