Today is the day I have my procedure for my spinal cord stimulation implant for migraine in London.

Really nervous, have read lots of stories about the pain levels after from the implant site.

Would appreciate any posts from anyone who has had this done.

Many thanks

What is this implant? What does it do? How does it work on migraines? What type of migrain is it suitable for?

And of course, good luck. Am more of a supporter of the power of positive thinking.

Hi, I haven't heard of this treatment. I think many of us would be grateful for any more info once you're up and feeling strong enough. I'm sure you'll be fine, I mean, what can be worse than a migraine!

Lots of good vibes, Rachel

Ps if you could let us know if you're having this through the national migraine centre that would be great. Xx

Hi guys

Sorry this is just a quick reply.

24 hours post op and in alot of pain.

Thus is a trial of spinal cord stimulation for migraine, it has been used for along time for back and neck pain..but being trialed for the past 4 years I think for effectiveness in chronic migraine.. Cluster etc.

This is done at St Thomas hospital in London via the pain management team .

The company is NEVRO Corp that you can Google for more info and Google images of how this is done.

Very painful today when trying to move..but this is to be expected.

I have trawled the Internet for hours before deciding to go ahead with this.

It's a chance of having a good reduction in severity and frequency of daily headache and migraine.

Will send some more updates when my sedation and painkillers ease off as feeling very weird and light headed.

Please Google it as it's the best informative way..

Will keep you updated..and would definitely suggest looking into it.

Sending love

Good luck with this treatment, I hope it works for you. I will Google it in case it's an option for me as I can't find anyone to amputate my head, lol :-)

Thankyou all for your well wishes

Well I have to say I'm day 8 post op and it has been a tough time to say the least..and still is!

I'm finally managing to get a few hours sleep at night..cannot have any thing touching the battery site at all!

Very swollen and very painful.

All the previous info I could find on Google from people saying it's not easy...they where totally correct.

Stitches out yesterday and activation in 3 weeks time.

My body is freaking out with the implant and trying to heal inside as well.

I can't do much at all to be honest and I'm a tough cookie! Will try and be a bit more informative next time.

Cheers

😔
