GCA & Osteoporosis changed me
GCA DX May 2019. I've changed from a workaholic carpenter to relaxing, observing stars, and art work. I was a strong chubby person of short stature. Now, I'm average weight (lost over 35 lbs from gca) and I'm officially a little person at 4 ft 7inches (lost 2 1/2 inches in height). It's taken 10 months

Postponed: Week 6, run 2.
6 minutes into running, I had to stop. then 30 seconds later I stopped altogether with overwhelming pain. I have swelling on my shin and my mother - a nurse - reckons I may have a stress fracture 🙃 so I’m icing it and I’m going to keep doing low impact HIIT. I don’t want to waste GP time so unless it

Completed week 3
I finished week three at lunchtime today - just a few weeks ago I couldn't imagine even getting this far, but with the lovely Laura's calm tuition it hasn't been the impossible struggle that I had feared. I normally take one or two 6 km walks a day following the roads that bound the local park where

Running through grief
Feeling low at the minute as my grandmother passed away on Saturday morning. Really struggling with grief even though she had suffered with Alzheimer’s and had been bedridden for years. It’s difficult to grieve when you don’t have a funeral to go to as she was abroad. Still managed to run a 5k Sunday

Shin splints week 2?
Hey everyone! I tried completing the programme last year, got to about week 5, and then was taken out with the most savage shin splints (it even hurt to stand for a few weeks!). Needless to say I didn’t complete the program and am now back to square one (this was maybe back in May last year). I thought

Has anyone had a tooth implant while on prednisone for PMR?
I have osteopenia and have
fractures
. I would love to hear from anyone that has gone thru this or any other surgery and how you healed. Except for the PMR I tend to be in pretty good health.

Prolia treatment damage. Vertebral fractures after 4 injections. T-score dropped by -1.7. Lumbar spine now -5.7
I asked to be transferred to the nearer hospital that diagnosed the
fractures
and which already keeps an eye on my APS.

Where is the off/on switch
Several weeks ago we decided it was new washer/dryer time. I went online with several of the companies with both big box and significant online presence. It was one of those times. I could not even determine how to come close to purchasing my products on two sites. Finally I made it to the Home

Influenza/Tamiflu question
How often during a "flu season" can one take Tamiflu; will it work a second time if one has to repeat it again three weeks later? Grandson, at University, has asthma bad, got off plane 3 weeks ago, 2 days later flu symptoms surfaced, tested...it was Influenza-B, took Tamiflu, recovered quickly. He

Finished Provenge
I finished Provenge treatment 2 weeks ago and I saw my Onc earlier today and said my PSA had creeped up to 2.7 from 1.6. My CAT and Bone scans were stable-no progression (woo hoo). He is not overly concern about the PSA going up slightly but more of any changes in the scans in the future and If I am
