Finished Provenge

I finished Provenge treatment 2 weeks ago and I saw my Onc earlier today and said my PSA had creeped up to 2.7 from 1.6. My CAT and Bone scans were stable-no progression (woo hoo). He is not overly concern about the PSA going up slightly but more of any changes in the scans in the future and If I am in any discomfort which I'm not. I feel great. He will not change my current treatment of lupron every 12 weeks and xgeva every 6 weeks. Keep up the fight my brothers.

Nick- dx March 2017, PSA 415, completed 6 rounds of Docetaxel. I get treated at MD Anderson in South Jersey right outside Philadelphia.

I asked my Onc if Provenge reduces PSA and said there are no known data to support it. If it works, then it increases survival. I wish you good health pleinairpainter.

Thanks Scott. I asked my Onc on when he would administer the 2nd line of ADT such as zytiga, he said as long ad the scans remain constant and I'm feeling great then there will be no change.

Stay the course amigo. Thanks for letting us know. Be well. Scott

Good job completing it.. I think I’ve heard of a psa uptick after . Is that right ? Feeling great is everything brother. Recover well .🕊

It went up 1.1 in 3 months. I'm praying that if it does go up that it would go up very slowly.

Good to hear. I've finished second double chemo and getting ready to get Provenge. Last PSA is 0.31 (originally 500)

Nick, thanks for post re your Provenge experience so far. Valuable information. Good to hear that your CAT and bone scans indicate things are stable. Do you in fact have bone mets, and if so, where? Thanks for the additional info. And good luck!

At dx, yes. I had bone mets to the hips and pelvic area and a little to the spine. My Onc said, if there are any now, it's microscopic.

Great!!! I had the same reaction to Provenge, small up tick in PSA. But all nodes shrank and stabilized. They haven't changed since. I went through Provenge treatment 5 years ago.

Magnus, after Provenge, what was your next treatment? My Onc doesn't want to put me on zytiga or any secondary ADT. As long as my PSA doesn't show a significant increase and scans show no further progression, he will keep me on lupron only.

My husband's PSA continued to rise on Provenge, he was put on Extandi after finishing Provenge and got two good years out of it before PSA started going up again.
